If you are a member of Congress, your loyalty needs to be to the United States of America first, no exceptions.
During the Biden administration, we saw that theory tested by members of his administration who were proven to be loyal to some of our enemies and adversaries rather than to this country.
This weekend, during a summit in Mexico, several members of Congress trashed the U.S., with one professing her loyalty to another country and revealing she is married to an illegal immigrant.
The second annual Panamerican Congress took place this weekend in Mexico, and there were more than a few Democrats in attendance, likely on the taxpayer dime, expressing their hatred and disloyalty to our country.
The comments that should bother everyone in this country came from Rep. Delia Ramirez (D-IL).
She stated, "I’m a proud Guatemalan before I’m an American.” She then accused the country of "imperialism, militarization, conquest, control, competition in its attempt at domination."
Ramirez proudly claimed to be married to an illegal immigrant, the only member of Congress "in a mixed-status marriage, and fights for the rights of DREAMers like her husband, Boris, and for comprehensive immigration reform.”
Ramirez was far from the only radical Democrat lawmaker to attend the conference.
Several Squad members were among those who attended, including Reps. Ilhan Omar (D-MN), Rashida Tlaib (D-MI), Ayanna Pressley (D-MA), Summer Lee (D-PA), and Jesús Gilberto García (D-IL).
Tlaib was celebrated at the conference as a “symbol of resistance” against fascism, as well as being recognized for taking up the cause of Palestine and advancing it in the United States.
This is horrifying to me. You can be proud of your home country, but if you are serving in our government, there is no ifs, ands, or buts about where your loyalty should be. This, to me, is traitorous and should be grounds for immediate removal from office. How can someone be permitted to serve in Congress when they are openly admitting that the United States is not their main priority?
Democrats do outrage better, but MAGA and the White House are giving them a run for their money over this conference and the comments made there.
White House spokesperson Liz Huston stated, “These Democrats’ comments are despicable and underscore their commitment to putting Americans last. In stark contrast, President Trump is working tirelessly to secure peace deals, deport illegal alien criminals, and advance America’s interests at home and abroad.”
The Department of Homeland Security also commented, stating, "There is no room in this country for hyphenated Americanism...Americanism is a matter of the spirit and of the soul. Our allegiance must be purely to the United States. We must unsparingly condemn any man who holds any other allegiance.”
Ramirez responded that these comments were an attack on her roots, but that is not the case. As a United States congresswoman, she has a duty to this country first, above all else. She just openly affirmed the opposite proposition; therefore, she should be removed from office. I don’t even see how this is open for discussion.
