I have to say, I love the fact that Trump officials are not allowing Democrats to walk all over them during these hearings.
In most cases, Dems are not even asking questions, just burning their minutes lecturing Bondi about one thing or another.
Bondi wound up chasing Rep. Becca Balint (D-VT) right out of the hearing for failing to support a resolution condemning antisemitism.
Rep. Jasmine Crockett (D-TX) has never seen a camera and a microphone that she has not fallen in love with.
She did the same thing during Bondi’s hearing before the House Judiciary Committee, stating, "Now, I'm not saying that the president is a pedophile, but there is a lot of evidence in these files that suggests that he's very close friends with a lot of men who are pedophiles.”
She refused to actually ask Bondi a question, and Bondi called her out for it when Crockett finished her lecture.
Another GOP House member gave Bondi some of his time, and Bondi proceeded to go down a list of illegal immigrants who had been arrested in Texas, which led to another outburst by Crockett.
Rep. Jerry Nadler (D-NY) tried to face off against Bondi, but that did not go well for the 78-year-old, and it seemed to take a lot out of him.
I say this because there is a video blowing up all over social media of Nadler falling asleep while one of his fellow Democrats. Rep. Jamie Raskin (D-MD) was going off on Bondi.
Nadler appeared to have dozed off during the exchange, and he became the darling of the internet.
Sadly, this is far from the first time that Nadler has been caught grabbing a power nap during a House hearing.
When Balint decided to go after the administration over the Epstein files, Bondi shot back, “You didn’t ask Merrick Garland anything about Epstein, not once … And also, I want, and also, I want the record to reflect that, you know, with this anti-Semitic culture right now, she voted against a resolution condemning —”
Balint then interrupted her, “Oh, oh, do you want to go there, Attorney General? Do you want to go there? Are you serious? Talking about antisemitism to a woman who lost her grandfather in the Holocaust! Really? Really?”
Balint then stormed out of the room while Chair Jim Jordan (R-OH) tried to get the hearing back under control.
For years, Republicans have sat in the hot seat and taken abuse from Democrats, but those days are over. This may not appeal to most people, but I love the fact that Republicans are finally starting to show some backbone.
