My “thought” today was about Republicans having a stiff backbone and not caving to pressure when times get tough. Our reader comment today is from Russell M. out of Oklahoma, who stated:

“You hit the nail on the head. It is sickening to watch these Republicans talk a big game when they are back home asking for our votes, only to turn into absolute jellyfish the second they get to Washington. The minute the media turns up the heat or the Democrats start throwing a tantrum, our guys immediately surrender just to protect their own political careers.

“They clearly care more about keeping their cushy jobs and securing their next lobbyist paycheck than they do about standing up for the folks who elected them. We are completely done with fair-weather conservatives who only show courage when it is easy. We demand representatives with an actual spine who are willing to plant their feet, take a punch, and hold the line for what is right.”
