I think after the debacle that was the 2024 election, the Democrat Party made it pretty clear that it wanted to move on from Joe Biden and Kamala Harris.

Harris was expected to run for governor in California as a way to revive her career, but that would have only left her in office for two years before running for the White House again in 2028.

So, Harris embarked on a book tour, now clearly making moves for 2028, but it is just not going very well for her.

Protesters appear at book events

Harris is now touring the country and doing the media circuit to promote her 107 Days memoir, which the title itself tells you is nothing but a whine-fest about her campaign.

While appearing in Chicago, Harris’s event was disrupted by pro-Palestine protesters, who remain unhappy about the way the Biden administration handled the war between Israel and Hamas.

Harris tried to make light of the situation, telling the protesters, “Are you the same person who was telling people not to vote?” While the liberal horde cheered her comments, they fell flat with the media, as she really seems to be struggling to get any juice behind her right now.

We have seen these protests at several recent events, and Harris is not exactly the fastest person on her feet, often breaking out into word salads she tries to play off as moments of insight.

She’s not done

During a recent interview with the BBC, Harris ended the mystery as to what the future will hold for her.

My intuition on this appeared to be right, as she is clearly leaning into another presidential run.

She stated, "I am not done. I have lived my entire career as a life of service and it's in my bones."

When she was asked about her poor polling numbers, she responded, "If I listened to polls I would have not run for my first office, or my second office -- and I certainly wouldn't be sitting here." I am not sure if she realizes it, but Harris has now had two failed runs at the presidency, so clearly those polls were correct.

Called out

For the most part, journalists will often let politicians off the hook when they deviate from the question that was asked and try to deflect away from a topic they clearly do not want to discuss, but that did not happen this time.

Harris was interviewing with Australian Broadcasting Corporation’s Sarah Ferguson, who asked Harris a question about not speaking up about Joe Biden’s mental decline.

Somehow, Harris tried to deflect the question by talking about Donald Trump, but Ferguson cut her off and tried her query again. Harris was clearly perturbed….

That, my friends, is real journalism, the type of which we do not see enough in this country. We often see a great question asked, but usually a weak or non-existent follow-up at all when a politician decides they don’t want to answer the question that was put to them. American journalists, I hope you were watching.
