When DNI Tulsi Gabbard leveled serious allegations against a host of Obama-era officials, the mainstream media just brushed it off as another conspiracy theory to deflect away from the negative cycle President Donald Trump was facing over the Epstein files.
Gabbard did not back down, however, but most members of Congress were staying away from the story.
As more information has become available, we are seeing more lawmakers come out to back the ongoing investigation, and that now includes Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-SC).
Before we get into this report, I need to make it clear that the allegations made by Gabbard literally have nothing to do with a single investigation that has already taken place regarding supposed Russian collusion.
All those investigations were about whether Trump colluded, not about how the allegations of collusion originated.
Gabbard is claiming that a concentrated narrative was created by people such as then-CIA Director John Brennan, with then-President Barack Obama directly overseeing the plot.
And while Trump has stated that he thinks Obama would benefit from the recent SCOTUS ruling on presidential immunity, he has a gross misunderstanding of that ruling. Rest assured, if Obama had overseen such a plot, it would not be considered an official presidential act covered by immunity.
Once these allegations emerged, it was clear that Obama’s allies were trying to control the narrative and how it was being pushed by the media.
One former Obama official stated, “The battle now is to play this even to make sure that thoughts don’t start to creep into more mainstream” audiences."
Obama allies also tried to pitch the narrative that the levers of government are being weaponized by the Trump administration.
For instance, former CIA Director John Brennan, who has been implicated in the alleged plot, stated, “I don’t know what is ahead, and I don’t know what their plans and intentions are. I just find all of this very troubling when it is being done by individuals who serve in such important positions and know what they are doing is wrong.”
This weekend, Graham was on Meet the Press with Kristin Welker, when things got a bit heated on this subject.
Graham snapped at Welker, "You’re trying to sweep this stuff under the rug, and that’s not right!"
To back his point, Graham later stated, "Well, what I am saying is that you left a lot out here… The Mueller investigation was crooked and rotten to the core. The Washington Post and the New York Times got a Pulitzer Prize for reporting on Trump's campaign's relationship with Russia. It was all B.S.”
It is just rather ironic that when it was Trump, the media loved the idea of a corrupt government. However, when it comes to someone like Obama, they don’t even want to consider that something illegal was done, as though he and his administration were above any corruption, which is clearly not the case. I really hope Gabbard is right in everything she is saying, as I would love to see Obama and his officials brought before the courts.
