Gabbard to cut ODNI work force by 40%

Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard has been a hot potato since her first day in office, and she just made an announcement that is sure to rattle more cages.

Gabbard, after having already exposed the deep state during the Biden administration, has now announced a massive cut in staff for the Office of the Director of National Intelligence (ODNI).

From the reports we have seen, she is looking to trim staff by about 40%.

On the way out

It was not long into Gabbard’s term when everyone thought she would be shown the door over a reported disagreement with Trump on the nuclear readiness of Iran.

During a hearing, Gabbard stated that Iranian leadership had not given the go-ahead to produce a nuclear weapon, which is what got all the headlines. The media presented this to Trump, and he openly disagreed with Gabbard, but Trump had clearly not read her full assessment.

Right after Gabbard stated that the order had not been given to move forward, she stated that Iran could likely have a nuclear weapon within months, even weeks, once the go-ahead was given.

Even though this was all on the record, when Gabbard made note of the second half of her testimony, the mainstream media acted like she was flipping her story to pacify Trump. For instance, a BBC headline read: “Tulsi Gabbard now says Iran could produce nuclear weapon 'within weeks.'” That is just a blatantly dishonest framing of her remarks at the time.

Exposing the deep state

While many were thinking that Gabbard was on her way out (even I was wondering it at this point), she quickly struck back by exposing communications during the Obama administration.

Those documents made it clear that a deep state movement within the Obama administration was working to eliminate Trump from the election picture by purposely adding Trump as a co-conspirator in the Russian election interference, which is where the collusion charges originated.

Former CIA Director John Brennan, who was a central figure in this narrative, went on the defensive, stating, “I don’t know what is ahead, and I don’t know what their plans and intentions are. I just find all of this very troubling when it is being done by individuals who serve in such important positions and know what they are doing is wrong.”

To be clear, this is not a conspiracy theory by any means. Gabbard had internal intelligence documents showing very clearly that this was an invented narrative that went right to the top of the administration, including Obama.

Trim it

In addition to exposing the deep state, Gabbard has also vowed to find departmental waste and eliminate it, and she is doing just that.

This week, Gabbard announced that she was going to trim DNI staffing by about 40%, stating, "Over the last 20 years, ODNI has become bloated and inefficient, and the intelligence community is rife with abuse of power, unauthorized leaks of classified intelligence, and politicized weaponization of intelligence.”

She continued, "ODNI and the IC must make serious changes to fulfill its responsibility to the American people and the U.S. Constitution by focusing on our core mission: find the truth and provide objective, unbiased, timely intelligence to the President and policymakers. Ending the weaponization of intelligence and holding bad actors accountable are essential to begin to earn the American people’s trust which has long been eroded."

I love the fact that Gabbard is trimming this down and getting rid of the fluff in the department. Now, I know that Dems will say she is threatening national security with this move, but I don’t see Gabbard ever doing that or being capable of doing that. I disagree with her on many fronts, but one thing I am confident in is this woman’s love for country and desire to keep America safe. I absolutely trust her on this call.
