The moment Gabbard dared to challenge Kamala Harris and Joe Biden for the Democrat nomination in the 2020 race, she had a target on her head.
That target got much bigger when she joined the Trump administration.
Now she is being accused of shady dealings with intelligence assets, which Gabbard is trying to shut down.
The heat really got turned up on Gabbard in July when she attended a political event, with Sen. Mark Warner (D-VA) having a fit.
He stated, “What we have here is a Director of National Intelligence willing to break decades of precedent to attack her own workforce and weaponize American intelligence at a political rally.”
He continued, “Director Gabbard is unable to adhere to her oath. Her claims that she cares about depoliticizing intelligence are incompatible with reality. When will my Republican colleagues, who claim to care about national security, finally speak up? Our intelligence community deserves better.”
Gabbard attended a Turning Point USA event that was held in Florida, and we all know how Democrats felt about the founder, Charlie Kirk.
If I am being honest, I am surprised that it took this long for someone to take a shot at Gabbard.
Mind you, we are talking about a highly decorated Lt. Colonel in the U.S. Army, yet Democrats would have you believe she is a spy of some sort.
After the whistleblower came forward, Gabbard’s office pushed back, stating, “Even the Biden-era Intelligence Community Inspector General came to this conclusion, determining that the Whistleblower’s allegations against DNI Gabbard ‘did not appear credible.’”
A DNI spokesperson added, “The Whistleblower’s complaint is with the Congressional Intelligence Committees for review. Director Gabbard has always and will continue to support [whistleblowers] and their right, under the law, to submit complaints to Congress, even if they are completely baseless like this one.”
For those of you unfamiliar with the complaint, it alleged that Gabbard was withholding classified information for political reasons.
The complaint was first filed in May, and it was investigated by the inspector general’s office, which found it to be credible.
Not shockingly, Warner led the charge about how long it took for the complaint to make its way to the Gang of Eight, stating, “It took the Gang of Eight six months of negotiation with the director of national intelligence to share that whistleblower complaint. This is in direct contradiction to what Gabbard testified during her confirmation hearings — that she would protect whistleblowers and share the information of timely matter.”
This, in my opinion, was nothing more than a hit job against Gabbard for not only leaving the Democrat Party but also for having sided with Trump and joining his administration. I was never thrilled with Gabbard and this appointment, but this woman is a patriot... of that I have no doubt. The complaint is utter garbage, and the IG’s office has already backed that up.
