In April 2025, Director of National Intelligence (DNI) Tulsi Gabbard announced that she was forming a task force to regain the trust of the American people.
Since that time, Democrats have come after her with everything they have, but Gabbard has not broken.
This week, she claimed the task force has completed its mission in only 10 months, disbanding it.
It is no secret that the American people, more specifically, conservatives, feel as though the deep state has taken over the government.
Between the leaks and the rogue agents going after Trump, the trust was gone, but Gabbard was hoping to restore that.
She announced, “In order to rebuild trust in the Intelligence Community and execute the tasks required by President Trump’s intelligence-related Executive Orders, I established the Director’s Initiatives Group to bring about transparency and accountability across the IC. We are already identifying wasteful spending in real time, streamlining outdated processes, reviewing documents for declassification, and leading ongoing efforts to root out abuses of power and politicization.”
She continued, “President Trump promised the American people maximum transparency and accountability. We are committed to executing the President’s vision and focusing the Intelligence Community on its core mission: ensuring our security by providing the President and policymakers with timely, apolitical, objective, relevant intelligence to inform their decision-making to ensure the safety, security and freedom of the American people.”
The best way to undermine someone who says they are trying to build trust in the government is to accuse that very person of manipulating intelligence to suit their own purposes.
That is exactly what happened when Democrats brought up a complaint against Gabbard that was not reported to Congress. However, they failed to inform everyone that, by law, Gabbard did not have to report it because the report was debunked by the Inspector General’s office.
Gabbard pushed back on the allegations, stating, “Senator Mark Warner and his friends in the Propaganda Media have repeatedly lied to the American people that I or the ODNI ‘hid’ a whistleblower complaint in a safe for eight months. This is a blatant lie.”
She then listed how the entire process played out, concluding, “Senator Warner's decision to spread lies and baseless accusations over the months for political gain, undermines our national security and is a disservice to the American people and the Intelligence Community.”
I have always liked Gabbard, but she would not have been my choice for DNI. However, I think she has done a decent job in that role, and so does she.
This week, she announced, "In less than one year, we’ve brought a historic level of transparency to the intelligence community. My commitment to transparency, truth, and eliminating politicization and weaponization within the intelligence community remains central to all that we do."
Gabbard put a target on her head the second she left the Democrat Party and started to support Trump. When she became a registered Republican, well, that was more or less a death sentence for her.
How Democrats can question this woman’s loyalty to this country is beyond me, as she is still serving our country in the military and has proven her loyalty time and again. Even though I did not support her nomination, I believe she has more than proven herself in this role, so now I have her back. She proved me wrong, and in this case, I prefer that over the alternative.
