The reaction by Democrats to the GOP-proposed voter ID legislation was as we expected.
Any time we try to make the elections more secure, Democrats say we are suppressing the vote, and it is the new Jim Crow.
Sen. John Fetterman (D-PA) is pushing back on that, as well as one other key narrative the Democrat Party loves to push.
For Democrats, this is an all-hands-on-deck response, with groups like the NAACP getting involved.
Recently, the organization stated, “The SAVE America Act is not about protecting our elections — it’s about disguising voter suppression techniques aimed at disenfranchising Black voters as election security.”
The statement continued, “It is disingenuous, it is discriminatory, and it is all based on a continuously disproven narrative of voter fraud propagated by an administration concerned not with voter protections but solely with the fear of letting people select their own leaders.”
The left seems to think that simply because voter fraud is not present enough to impact a presidential election, it is not a big deal. But go back and look at how many state and local elections are settled by fewer than 100 voters. Voter fraud has impacted local elections in the past, and it could impact future elections if something is not done about it.
Fetterman is a huge supporter of Israel, and he appears to have been broken by the antisemitic tone of the Democrat Party.
After AOC again attacked Israel for having committed “genocide,” Fetterman responded, "There was never any genocide in Gaza, absolutely, and there shouldn't ever be any conditions for aid for Israel, because they were in an existential war.”
He continued, "Why would you align yourself [with] raging antisemites and very pro-Hamas people like Hasan Piker? There's a rot in my party standing with pro-Hamas people like that."
This is all because the party’s leadership has allowed the minority in the party to take over because it is scared of the noise it is creating. Because AOC and her fellow progressives scream louder, leadership has wilted and is now pushing the Squad’s talking points.
Fetterman then ripped the party over the ridiculous Jim Crow 2.0 narrative regarding the SAVE Act.
He stated, "I would never refer to the SAVE Act as like Jim Crow 2.0 or some kind of mass conspiracy.”
He continued, "But that's part of the debate that we were having here in the Senate right now. And I don't call people names or imply that it's something gross about the terrible history of Jim Crow."
The GOP has to pounce on this and start to use Fetterman’s words to expose the party divide. Let’s be realistic here… Fetterman may not survive his next primary race, so the clock is ticking on being able to use this material against Democrats. Now is the time…
