It would appear that you can run, but you cannot hide.
Charlie Kirk's assassin had a well-thought-out escape plan, but mistakes were made, dispelling earlier reports that the killing was a professional hit.
Police now have still shots of the killer, some physical evidence, and the FBI is offering a massive reward to get the public involved.
As we had noted in our earlier report, Kirk's assassin managed to get away, but not totally clean. To me, this discounts an earlier report from Fox News from a former FBI analyst who believed this was a professional hit.
The shooter was clearly skilled, but there now appears to have been mistakes that never would have been committed by a professional. I am also wary of that assumption due to the nature of this killing. If it were a professional hit, I don’t think it would have been this public.
Having said that, the shooter did his homework, setting up a hiding spot, planning an escape route, and blending in with the crowd to ensure his escape. Maybe he had military training, or maybe he was just a good shot; we can’t say. And again, I am not going to speculate because we simply don’t know.
What police have found, however, is that the shooter evaded authorities by escaping through a wooded area into a nearby neighborhood, giving him a few miles' head start on authorities. The wooded area is where the rifle was recovered. Authorities also found foot impressions and hand impressions.
Utah Department of Public Safety Commissioner Beau Mason confirmed they have footage of the individual who failed to evade cameras, another hint that this was not a professional job. Mason stated, "Starting at 11:52 a.m. this subject arrived on campus. Shortly away from campus, we have tracked his movements onto the campus, through the stairwells, up to the roof across the roof to the shooting location. After the shooting, we were able to track his movements as he moved to the other side of the building, jumped off of the building and fled off of the campus and into a neighborhood."
He concluded, "Our investigators have worked through those neighborhoods, contacting anybody they can with doorbell cameras, witnesses and thoroughly worked through those communities, trying to identify any leads.”
Given Kirk's strong ties to the Trump family and his history of support for the president, it is no surprise to see a $100,000 reward being offered for information that leads to the suspect's arrest.
Authorities announced, “The FBI is offering a reward of up to $100,000 for information leading to the identification and arrest of the individual(s) responsible for the murder of Charlie Kirk.”
The FBI has also released pictures of the alleged assassin, who appears to have been dressed to blend in with the pro-Kirk crowd…

Money is a powerful driver, and the fact that we have a picture of the alleged suspect is a huge break in the case, as it is unlikely this individual will be able to stay hidden much longer.
My main hope at this point is that authorities can take him alive, as I would love to know the motives and any possible affiliations of the shooter.
