As soon as President Donald Trump announced that he was going to federalize D.C., we all knew it was going to be a serious public relations problem.
For months, Democrats and the media have been characterizing Trump as an authoritarian, and his latest move just fed that narrative.
We are already seeing protests erupt, and you will never guess (I say that sarcastically) who is allegedly behind them.
Trump is not the only one making a power move in D.C., as protest companies are seeing a massive surge in requests for paid demonstrators.
Crowds on Demand CEO Adam Swart stated, "Right now, D.C. inquiries are up roughly 400% compared to the same period in 2024.”
This is a brilliant business model to supply protesters when and where needed.
The problem, however, is that he is sharing his data, which means that we know, for the most part, that these are not protests of passion, but rather staged stunts.
DNC chair Ken Martin is backing protests against the D.C. takeover as well as the Texas gerrymandering controversy.
He stated, "Trump knows the only way he can hold the majority after his budget betrayal is by changing the rules in the middle of the game to avoid accountability for ripping health care and food away from millions of Americans.”
Drucilla Tigner, executive director of Texas For All, added, "Though this fight started in Texas, it doesn’t end here. This isn’t just about redistricting or one state’s politics. It’s about the future of our democracy."
No wonder business is up for Crowds on Demand.
Since they don’t have enough people on board to get headlines, someone is going to have to pay for all those protesters, and as you may have guessed, the fingers are already pointing to George Soros.
According to a New York Post report, more than $20 million has been donated to back these protests, and, among other dark-money donors, Soros is on the list.
Caitlin Sutherland, the executive director of nonprofit watchdog Americans for Public Trust, observed, “It is ironic that a protest to ostensibly ‘Free DC’ was hosted by Community Change, a group funded by massive amounts of outside dark money to push a pro-crime agenda. DC is facing shootings, carjackings, and assaults, and yet progressive groups like The Pritzker Foundation, George Soros, and the Arabella Network all spend millions of dollars to manufacture protests that weaken our communities.”
I say let them protest and let the American people see what the left really stands for in this country. We have seen before how this winds up, as protests evolve into riots, then liberals burn down the streets, only to try to blame Trump for the escalation when police come in to restore order. This narrative has been played, and I have faith that the majority of Americans will see right through it in round two.
