Rep. Jasmine Crockett (D-TX) has been an obstructionist from her very first day in office.
She confirmed that during a recent interview with a local station here in Dallas, reiterating that she was not interested in legislating, only in stopping President Donald Trump.
After engaging in a war of words with Trump, reports started to surface that Crockett really is more diva than legislator.
After Trump was elected, Crockett went right after him, ripping him every time a microphone was put in her face.
For instance, in February, she made an appearance on MSNBC and stated, “The problem is that Americans thought that it was OK to take a full-fledged criminal and make him the president of the United States, and then they want to act aghast when he does criminal things.”
She continued, “Let me tell you: We have a thug in charge of the United States. And if we don’t wake up, we may not have a United States, because right now he has only been successful in being a divider in chief.”
These comments put her on Trump’s radar, and it was game on from that point forward.
I cannot say for sure that Crockett started this new trend among Democrats to launch into foul-mouthed rants, but she has definitely embraced it and made it the norm.
To that point, while on stage at a conference over the weekend, she hit Trump again, stating, “Donald Trump is a piece of sh**. OK, we know that. But in a functioning democracy, he still would not be able to get away with this.”
She then directly accused conservative members of the U.S. Supreme Court, without proof, of corruption, stating, “We know that they’re taking money. We have the paper trail. And they refuse to put guardrails on themselves, so it’s time for us to do it for them.”
If they had the paper trail, those justices would have been removed from the bench and prosecuted. Furthermore, imagine the reaction if a Republican had made comments like that about Barack Obama, or said even anything remotely close to that. Can you imagine the outrage in the media and the calls for removal? Yet, Democrat leadership continues to sit on its hands regarding Crockett's conduct.
I have stated many times that today’s politicians are nothing more than entertainers, and that is a narrative that is now pulsating from former members of Crockett’s camp and within the ranks of Democrat staffers, as several sources who have worked with her are giving the inside scoop.
They are telling a tale of someone who is only engaged when the cameras are on and is otherwise a nightmare to deal with. For instance, one former aide stated, “She is laying around her apartment, won’t come into the office, and is just indifferent to staff and will scream at them. She is never in the office and is very disengaged. She does her bull -- that goes viral, and then freaks out over the most random things.”
Another source stated, “It is widely known that she’s not nice to staff and is just not a really dedicated member focused on constituents.” And a third added, “She is focused almost exclusively on being an influencer, not a member of Congress,” describing her as “all diva, no wow.”
Those are far from the only complaints documented in a recent New York Post report. From insulting gay members of her team to using them as Uber drivers to accusations of completely narcissistic behavior, former staffers are painting a very ugly picture of Crockett. Sadly, what she is doing is working in terms of voters, as far too many people are interested in boosting social media stars rather than legislators who work for them. In my opinion, Crockett is everything that is currently wrong with Congress and D.C. as a whole.
