Amazon Prime has dropped the first preview for season two of "The Terminal List," bringing Chris Pratt back as Navy SEAL Commander James Reece more than four years after the hit series debuted.

The new season, based on Jack Carr's second novel "True Believer," premieres October 21, 2026, and picks up Reece's story across a sprawling international landscape, from the Indian Ocean to Southern and Northern Africa, the Middle East, and Europe. A conspiracy stretching from Moscow to Langley sits at the center of the plot, OutKick reported.

Season one landed on Amazon in July 2022 and carved out an audience that Hollywood's usual gatekeepers never saw coming. Conservative viewers embraced the show for doing something rare in modern streaming: telling a military thriller straight, without apology, built on a story written by a former Navy SEAL who knows the world he's depicting.

Carr's novels gave Hollywood a franchise it didn't expect to need

Jack Carr built a bestselling book series before Amazon turned it into a franchise. A former Navy SEAL himself, Carr wrote "The Terminal List" and its sequels from firsthand knowledge of special-operations culture, the kind of authenticity that resonated with readers long before a camera rolled. "True Believer," the source novel for season two, continues the James Reece saga with the same ground-level credibility.

Carr has stayed busy beyond fiction. Fox Nation featured him in a special titled "Jack Carr Investigates Carlos the Jackal," underscoring his crossover appeal as both a storyteller and a commentator on real-world security matters.

Pratt and Carr running it back together signals that Amazon sees commercial life in a show that doesn't chase progressive cultural trends. It tells a military story for a military-friendly audience, and the platform is betting that audience will show up again four years later.

Returning cast joined by fresh faces for a globe-spanning plot

Several familiar names return alongside Pratt. Tom Hopper reprises his role as Raife Hastings, Constance Wu is back as journalist Katie Buranek, Dar Salim returns as Mohammed Farooq, and Luke Hemsworth plays Jules Landry again.

New additions fill out the expanded roster. Gabriel Luna joins the cast as Freddy Strain, while Costa Ronin, Olga Kurylenko, Yul Vazquez, Arnold Vosloo, and Shiraz Tzarfati round out the season two ensemble. Character details for several of the newcomers have not yet been disclosed.

The geographic scope alone, Indian Ocean, two regions of Africa, the Middle East, Europe, and the Moscow-to-Langley conspiracy thread, suggests a bigger production footprint than season one. Whether that translates into a tighter or more sprawling story remains to be seen when episodes start dropping in October.

Entertainment that respects its audience, and the men and women who serve, shouldn't be the exception in Hollywood, but it still is, and that's exactly why "The Terminal List" keeps finding one.
