Science is science… or at least it used to be.
Scientists were the people on whom you could rely for a dry, cold, factual analysis, but that is no longer the case.
Wokeness has now seeped its way into the scientific world, and after the resignation letter of one of the CDC officials who recently resigned was released, it looks like Trump may have dodged a bullet.
On Wednesday, a report surfaced that COVID-19 shots were now subject to some new rules from the FDA.
HHS Secretary Kennedy posted to X, “FDA has now issued marketing authorization for those at higher risk: Moderna (6+ months), Pfizer (5+), and Novavax (12+)."
He added, “These vaccines are available for all patients who choose them after consulting with their doctors.”
Something told me this was going to create a stir, and boy, was I right.
When Dr. Susan Monarez was chosen as the CDC director, I warned that she was going to pose a problem.
It was not about her qualifications, as she was more than qualified, but rather about her support of vaccines and Kennedy's status as a vaccine skeptic.
When she was confirmed to the role, I even stated that these two would eventually butt heads, but I had hoped they would find common ground.
The new vaccine guidelines from the FDA appear to be what started all of this, or at least that is my perception of what precipitated the rift between the Trump administration and the CDC.
One of the other officials who just resigned is Demetre C. Daskalakis, director of the National Center for Immunization and Respiratory Diseases.
In his resignation letter, he made it clear he believes politics are now being put before science, stating, "For decades, I have been a trusted voice for the LGBTQ community when it comes to critical health topics. I must also cite the recklessness of the administration in their efforts to erase transgender populations, cease critical domestic and international HIV programming, and terminate key research to support equity as part of my decision.”
This “scientist” also referred to “pregnant people” and the “weaponization” of the office.
Now, I have to admit, I never thought I would hear scientists and doctors refer to women as “pregnant people” or agree to the idea of nearly limitless genders based on one's perception rather than chromosomes. Dems will consider this a scandal, but in the case of Daskalakis, Trump really dodged a bullet.
