California law unmasking agents blocked by Clinton-appointed judge

Sorry, Gavin, but your new law goes too far.

That is what a Clinton-appointed judge just decided.

I am referring to the law recently passed by California Governor Gavin Newsom to unmask immigration agents working in California.

No masks bill

If you are familiar with special operations or undercover police work, you know masks are used to hide the identities of operatives.

This is to protect both the operative and their families from being targeted in the real world.

Democrats have always made this out to be something that it is not. For instance, Assembly member Juan Carrillo, the vice-chair of the Latino caucus, stated, “How is anyone supposed to reasonably believe that they are law enforcement officers and not masked individuals trying to kidnap you? Imagine the absolute fear of being pulled over at gunpoint by a group of masked individuals.”

From what I have seen, these agents are generally in law enforcement vests, as well as having their badges displayed. It is not quite the black-op they are making it out to be.

Swalwell piles on

With the collapse of former Rep. Katie Porter (D-CA) in the gubernatorial race, Rep. Eric Swalwell (D-CA) decided to throw his hat into the ring.

And, of course, he went after ICE agents as part of his agenda.

He stated, “If the governor has the ability to issue driver’s licenses to people in California, if you’re going to wear a mask and not identify yourself, you’re not going to be eligible to drive a vehicle in California.”

Swalwell is what I would consider to be a paper tiger. He pretends to be a tough guy and thinks he is some sort of savior for the people. In reality, he likes to take controversial issues and gain political points rather than solve any problems.

Can’t do that

All this is moot now, however, as Judge Christina Snyder, who was appointed by Bill Clinton, just ruled that the mask law is not legal.

She ruled, "The Court finds that federal officers can perform their federal functions without wearing masks. However, because the No Secret Police Act, as presently enacted, does not apply equally to all law enforcement officers in the state, it unlawfully discriminates against federal officers."

Attorney General Pam Bondi took a victory lap, stating, "ANOTHER key court victory thanks to our outstanding @TheJusticeDept attorneys. Following our arguments, a district court in California BLOCKED the enforcement of a law that would have banned federal agents from wearing masks to protect their identities."

This is the correct ruling, and it is truly a safety issue. If the Dems were not getting everyone riled up against immigration officers, it would be a different story, but with attacks on the rise, they need to keep their identities hidden, in my opinion.
