Since President Donald Trump took office and started to implement his immigration agenda, ICE has become public enemy number one for the left.
Attacks against agents are now up about 700% from last year during the same period, and that number is only likely to rise given the aggressive rhetoric of progressives nationwide.
On top of that, officials in Portland, Oregon, are now trying to have ICE removed from a city building.
I was not surprised to hear that attacks against ICE were on the rise, but a 700% increase almost floored me.
We only just closed out June, yet there have been more attacks against agents this year than all of last year.
This violence has hurt the agency's ability to both apprehend suspects and develop its cases against high-profile targets.
David Kim, assistant chief of the U.S. Border Patrol’s El Centro Sector, explained, “This does take a lot of time, and a lot of effort goes into this and it might be a couple of days cause one day you might see the target and the next day you may not so it takes a little bit of time to find them.”
One reason that the agents are seeing such a massive rise in attacks is the manner in which they are being portrayed by Democrats.
For instance, Rep. Enrique Sanchez (D-RI) stated, "The Nazi Gestapo ICE thugs kidnapped another of our neighbors in Providence this morning. This time on Alverson St.”
He continued, "The ICE thugs damaged a couple of residents’ cars as well. They think they are above the law. I strongly condemn this act of terror and will be demanding answers and seeking action tomorrow. I am tired of this s**t. Providence doesn’t want ICE thugs in our city."
They are not “kidnapping” people; they are apprehending them because they broke the law, but Dems fail to see the difference. As I stated, my belief is that Dems want to see this violence, as there is just no other reason to continue to spew this nasty rhetoric against agents doing their jobs by enforcing our border laws.
Now, Portland city officials are trying to figure out a way to have ICE removed from setting up shop in a city building.
City Council Member Angelita Morillo stated, "If we allow ICE to continue to operate when they have violated their permits, that means that anything becomes permissible moving forward. And so, for me, that change in information has changed the calculation."
City Council Member Steve Novick added, "This is an assault on our democracy as a whole… The assault on immigrants is the tip of the spear. We should not be trying to figure out how to keep our heads low and avoid the attention of this administration."
“Nazi thugs.” “Kidnapping.” “Threat to democracy.” These are the same tired talking points Democrats used to lose the 2024 election, but they just won’t give up until they have the country convinced that defending our border is akin to identifying as a Nazi and supporting Hitler.
