Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) has shed tears for Palestinian children. She has compared US immigration detention centers to concentration camps. She has tried to make herself out to be the head of the morality police to fight against the Republican Party.
Yet, as missiles are raining down on Israel from a terrorist nation, and while an 11-year-old little girl lies in critical condition, a victim of a strike by Iran, as Jewish families are huddled in shelters during Passover, her compassion is nowhere to be found.
Quite the opposite, actually, as the radical Democrat has vowed to defund the one thing that prevents Israel from being turned into a pile of rubble and stacked up dead bodies… The Iron Dome. Her message has been made clear: she will defend the lives of Hamas sympathizers and illegal immigrants, but when it comes to Jewish people, she is simply not interested.
Rep. Ocasio-Cortez always seems like she is one tear away from a mental breakdown, but this is nothing more than political theater. Being triggered is what she does best, and it is usually in front of a camera (which is by design).
Last week, AOC appeared before the Democratic Socialists of America, reported CNN, where she confirmed that she would oppose all aid to Israel, including its defensive weapons system, the Iron Dome. She stated:
"I believe the Israeli government is well able to fund the Iron Dome system, which has proven critical to keep innocent civilians safe from rocket attacks and bombardment.”
AOC first made headlines on this subject when she turned on the waterworks during a House vote in 2021, backing off her opposition to funding for the Iron Dome at the last second.
The young Democrat was seen crying on the House floor after the vote, a pattern she would duplicate many times throughout her career.
She also became infamous for flip-flopping on votes depending upon which way the wind was blowing in Congress at the time.
As noted above, rather than voting against the Iron Dome funding in 2021, she chose to vote present, then broke down on the House floor for some photo-ops.
In 2024, during the Democrat National Convention, the true time to make a stand, AOC dodged all questions on the matter. After all, it was an election year, so her principles went out the window.
In July 2025, she voted against the amendment that had been proposed to cut funding from the Iron Dome, this time defending its “defensive capabilities.”
Now, about a week ago, she flipped again, opposing all military aid to Israel, including the Iron Dome.
After AOC’s latest stance, the American Israel Public Affairs Committee (AIPAC) called her out, reported Cleveland Jewish News, stating:
"Making it easier for terrorists to kill civilians isn't anti-war or pro-peace, it's just anti-Israel."
According to Israeli officials, the Iron Dome has intercepted 92% of the missiles aimed at the country since the start of this war against Iran. We have seen the devastation caused by that 8% that has been successful, so, apparently, she is willing to allow Israeli children to die simply to score points with her radical friends at the DSA.
The table below illustrates just how many times AOC has changed positions on this issue, and it always seems to coincide with whatever is most politically convenient at the time:
How did we ever get to this point? Well, let’s take a hard look at the arc of AOC’s career.
When the 28-year-old former bartender defeated Rep. Joe Crowley (D-NY) in the 2018 primary race, it sent a shockwave through the Democrat Party. This was a man who was once touted as a possible successor to Rep. Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) in leadership, and he had just lost his seat to an unknown, who also happened to be the youngest female member of Congress in history, sworn into office at the age of 29.
AOC hit all the nerves during the race. During one interview, the New York Times reported she had stated:
“What I see is that the Democratic Party takes working-class communities for granted, they take people of color for granted and they just assume that we’re going to turn out no matter how bland or half-stepping these proposals are.”
A lot of people took shots at AOC for being a former bartender, but I was not one of them.
After all, I was a bartender myself, as well as a server. I cut my teeth in the service industry, and working men and women were what our Founders envisioned running our government. Of the people, by the people, for the people… But that was about all AOC and our Founders had in common.
The more she spoke, the more it became apparent that her vision for this country was about as far from the vision of our Founders as one could be. She was a socialist, through and through, and she had radical plans for both her party and this country. And that opened the door to start to attack her. Not for her background, but for the threat she posed to the very foundations of our Republic.
It took no time at all for AOC to show her true colors. She was not representing her constituents in New York, but instead pushing a radical agenda to transform this nation.
In February 2019, she proposed the Green New Deal, a play on the FDR legislation that was packed with renewable energy initiatives.
That, however, was just the beginning. She had already started to push the defunding of ICE and police, as well as introducing a massive tax hike on the rich, claiming they were not paying their fair share.
For the most part, everything she proposed crashed and burned:
AOC has never had a problem enhancing a story to push a narrative.
We all remember the infamous pictures of AOC wailing at a detention center, dressed in white, which the cameras just happened to catch at the perfect time. She likened the detention centers to Holocaust camps. The centers, by the way, were built during the Obama administration, and as far as I have been able to find, there is not a single picture of AOC protesting these centers as a student activist while Obama was in office.
After the photos went viral, her office denied the allegations of a photo-op, reported Fox News. The photographer, Ivan Pierre Aguirre, also denied that this was an arranged photo-op, posting to X:
"To this day I have never spoken to AOC. I didn't talk to her that day or before the photos. I just saw a moment and started to make photos as I am wired to do."
Few, if anyone, believed either of them. But here is the post, so you decide…
AOC supported both Trump impeachments, many of the points of which were largely debunked during the Mueller and Durham probes.
During the riot at the Capitol on January 6, AOC had stated that she feared for her life, but she was not even in the main Capitol dome building during the breach. She then claimed she had retreated to her office to hide. The mainstream media immediately came to her defense, with outlets like the Washington Post claiming her recounting of the events was not a hoax.
Then there was the 2021 Met Gala, where AOC wore a dress with “Tax the Rich” painted on it, having been comped a $35,000 ticket for the event while having the audacity to preach against wealth inequality. The BBC later reported that an investigation had been launched after a watchdog group had "substantial reason to believe that she accepted impermissible gifts" for the event.
The denouement of her hypocrisy, however, took place while she and Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-VT) were touring the country on their “Fighting Oligarchy” tour.
AOC, a self-described environmental warrior, and Sanders had tapped the “Friends of Bernie Sanders” PAC for more than $220,000 for private jet services during the early stages of the tour, reported Fox News.
The National Republican Congressional Committee (NRCC) pounced, labeling them both as “champagne socialists.”
The irony in all of this was that it was AOC’s own words that came back to bite her. For instance, while taking a dig at Elon Musk, only weeks before she had turned into a jetsetter, she had posted to X:
"I commute to DC on either rail or commercial flight.”
Prior to that, in July 2023, Politico reported that AOC had stated:
"For real, how many private jets do these CEOs need? It is insatiable. It is unacceptable."
Her own words tell the story better than I ever could:
Both AOC and Sanders defended the use of the jets as “necessary” due to the timing of the events. Sanders did not help his case with his statement on the matter. In May 2025, Sanders was questioned about the private jet flights, and, according to a New York Post report, he responded:
“You think I’m gonna be sitting on a waiting line at United … while 30,000 people are waiting?”
Entitled much, Bernie? So much for being a man of the people.
Is AOC already making a play for higher office? Honestly, the time to strike is now, as Kamala Harris is a two-time loser, and once the GOP starts hitting the record of California Governor Gavin Newsom, he should crumble.
With Trump’s low approval rating and mixed feelings about JD Vance on the right, this should be an ideal opportunity, but Democrats don’t really have anyone to step up and take advantage of the situation.
Enter AOC, who, according to a Fox News report, has spent nearly $700,000 on list acquisition and texting services outside of her own New York Congressional district.
AOC has denied any interest in running to this point, happy to keep taking that automatic seat and paycheck for her House seat representing NY-14.
Regardless of whether she runs for president, AOC has already positioned herself as the leader of the Squad and the likely future leader of the Democrat Party. Rep. Hakeem Jeffries (D-NY), by all accounts, has fumbled his opportunity, and AOC is now hiding in the bushes, waiting to pounce.
This is a dangerous woman who would hang our allies out to dry. In her own words, she has zero interest in helping protect Israel, which regularly comes under missile fire and drone attacks from terrorist organizations.
A vote to defund the Iron Dome is a vote for instability in the Middle East, giving terrorist nations and organizations unfettered control of the area, and openly advocating for the deaths of innocent Jewish civilians.
She has tears for everyone except the people dodging Iranian missiles during Passover.
Is that the future of American politics? If we continue to put people like AOC in office, it will be.
