The Epstein files have become a massive problem for Attorney General Pam Bondi.
The AG made the mistake of telling everyone she had an Epstein client list on her desk (she later claimed to have misspoken, stating she only meant to reference the files themselves), and now she is slow-rolling the release of additional documents.
Reps. Thomas Massie (R-KY) and Ro Khanna (D-CA) are now coming after Bondi with everything they have.
The DOJ was ordered by the court to release all documents by Friday, but Bondi has only been releasing them in small batches.
Deputy Attorney General Todd Blanche explained, “The reason why we are still reviewing documents and still continuing our process is simply that to protect victims.”
He continued, “So the same individuals that are out there complaining about the lack of documents that were produced on Friday are the same individuals who apparently don’t want us to protect victims.”
This has only fueled more rumors from Trump's critics that Bondi is trying to cover up for the president, his allies, or other powerful people in those files.
Massie has been hammering Bondi over the files, as he has been leading the effort with Rep. Khanna to force the release of the information.
The Kentucky lawmaker stated, “They’re flouting the spirit and the letter of the law. It’s very troubling, the posture that they’ve taken. And I won’t be satisfied until the survivors are satisfied.”
After saying that Bondi was responsible for the situation, he added, “The quickest way, and I think, most expeditious way to get justice for these victims, is to bring inherent contempt against Pam Bondi. And that doesn’t require going through the courts. Basically, Ro Khanna and I are talking about and drafting that right now.”
Khanna has also been doing the media circuit, making his own threats against Bondi.
Khanna believes that Bondi should be fined $5,000 per day for every day the files are kept hidden. He stated, “What the American people want to know [is]: Who are these other powerful financiers [and] powerful politicians who trafficked these women, or abused these women as girls or covered it up? That is in those witness interviews, the FBI interview memorandum. They have not released a single one.”
He also made it clear that it is not Bondi he is after, stating, “I don’t want to embarrass Pam Bondi. I want to embarrass the Epstein class that visited Epstein’s rape island and raped these young girls.”
The DOJ and Trump, for that matter, have taken the stance that they don’t want to embarrass anyone by releasing the full files, to which Khanna responded, “The law explicitly says you can’t conceal information because it would be an embarrassment or reputational harm to people. The Justice Department is treating those accused with the same protection as they’re treating the victims and the survivors.”
I agree. Listen, most people around Epstein are believed to have known what he was doing, and like Harvey Weinstein’s friends, they all chose to keep their mouths shut and not say a word. In my opinion, there are few, if any, innocent people who were hanging around with Epstein at the time in question. As I have said many times, release the files and let the chips fall where they may.
