For days, I have been trying to figure out how both sides can save face and lower the temperature in Minnesota.
Barack Obama, however, appears to want to see the heat turned up.
Unbelievably, he is calling for more protests against Trump’s immigration crackdown.
The second shooting and death gave Democrats everything they needed to call for another government shutdown.
After having negotiated a new funding bill, Democrats are now pulling back, stating they will not fund a government with ICE still being operational.
Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY) stated, “What’s happening in Minnesota is appalling—and unacceptable in any American city, because of Republicans’ refusal to stand up to President Trump, the DHS bill is woefully inadequate to rein in the abuses of ICE."
This is a problem, as the administration is even losing support from some friendly Democrats.
Sen. John Fetterman (D-PA) has backed immigration efforts in the past, and he is still backing the funding, but he is starting to throw out some hard criticisms.
He stated, “The operation in Minneapolis should stand down and immediately end. It has become an ungovernable and dangerous urban theatre for civilians and law enforcement.”
I still wonder why nobody is pointing out the fact that Minnesota is a sanctuary state, and if that were not the case, these problems would likely not exist.
If you look at states cooperating with ICE, there are no protests, no violence, just bad guys getting locked up and deported.
Obama has been relatively quiet on this front, but now he is calling for more protests. With everything that has happened so far, how can any intelligent person think this is a good idea?
The former president stated, “Every American should support and draw inspiration from the wave of peaceful protests in Minneapolis.”
He continued, “They are a timely reminder that ultimately, it’s up to each of us as citizens to speak out against injustice, protect our basic freedoms, and hold our government accountable.”
Peaceful protests? You call ramming cars into agents peaceful? You call pushing agents and spitting at agents peaceful? This is George Floyd and “mostly peaceful protests” all over again. I am telling you, Democrats will not be happy until they see a stack of bodies they can use to take power back from Republicans. It is literally just a game to them, and their supporters are nothing more than sacrificial lambs.
