A viral video made by a group of Democrats who told our troops to defy orders from Donald Trump and Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth, I believe, was made to elicit a response from the president and also as a way to create headlines.
Those involved have succeeded on both fronts, with Trump having publicly erupted at them and with those involved receiving a rush of interview requests, which they are now using to create a fundraising boom.
The FBI has since opened up a probe of the lawmakers, hoping that they come in for a chat voluntarily, but a representative from Pennsylvania is already defying Director Kash Patel's request.
I have been hammering the six Democrats who made the video, as I think it is pretty clear they did so as a blatant political stunt, and it worked.
Trump became unhinged over the post, rightfully so, and the liberal lawmakers are all now the darlings of the mainstream media.
Honestly, who had heard of Reps. Jason Crow (D-CO), Chrissy Houlahan (D-PA), Chris DeLuzio (D-PA), and Maggie Goodlander (D-NH) before that video was made?
They are all making the most of their 15 minutes of fame by driving fundraising efforts based on Trump's response to the video. They have all seen a boom, but Sen. Mark Kelly (D-AZ), arguably the best-known of all the culprits, was the top fundraiser for a hot minute on ActBlue after Trump issued his response.
After the video came out, the FBI announced that it wanted to have a chat with the politicians in the video.
Even though the FBI was opening a probe, officials were hoping that those who participated in the video would come in voluntarily to speak with authorities.
Sen. Elissa Slotkin (D-MI), the final member of the group, announced, "Last night the counterterrorism division at the FBI sent a note to members of, the members of Congress saying they are opening what appears to be an inquiry against the six of us.”
The “six” used this to their advantage, making themselves out to the victims even though they were the ones who were using our military as a prop in this despicable political stunt.
Rep. DeLuzio is now trying to come off as a defiant tough guy, telling CNN, “Well, that’s been reported now, I think, since yesterday that the FBI wants to ask me and the other members of Congress I served with for voluntary interviews.”
He continued, “As I said, when this news broke, it’s a clear attempt to intimidate us as members of Congress, to try to deter us from criticizing the president.”
When he was asked if he would sit down with the FBI on his own accord, he responded, “I’m not planning a sit-down for a voluntary interview, no.”
Democrats are going to bleed this for as much and for as long as they can. Sadly, the media and far too many people in this country are falling for their act. Again, it is despicable, and I cannot believe people cannot see this for its true purpose.
