Democrats have been spewing venom at ICE ever since Trump put his immigration plan into play.
We have seen numerous attacks against agents, and I have stated that it was only a matter of time before someone murdered an agent.
That nearly happened, but thankfully, authorities were able to thwart such a plot before it could be carried out.
I honestly cannot remember a time when I have seen so many blatant attacks against federal agents.
We have seen them surrounded in Chicago and ambushed in Texas, but to this point, no agents have been killed, which is rather remarkable.
According to the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), the rise in attacks is now up by 1,150%.
DHS spokesperson Tricia McLaughlin stated, "Sanctuary politicians need to tone the rhetoric down before a law enforcement officer is killed. They should be thanking these brave law enforcement officers who risk their lives every single day to arrest pedophiles, rapists, murderers, gang members, and terrorists from our neighborhoods."
A report broke this week that a plot to murder agents was thwarted when law enforcement took John Wilson Bennett and Mark Booth Bennett, both American citizens, into custody earlier this month.
They were brought to the attention of authorities when an off-duty police officer overheard them discussing their alleged plans to “kill police officers and ICE agents.”
The report continued that Mark Bennett was in contact with other anti-ICE activists in Nevada, which is where he allegedly planned to get his weapons to carry out the attack.
McLaughlin stated, “It’s chilling that a human being, much less a child educator, would plot to ambush and kill ICE law enforcement officers -- offering such specifics as to getting a high-caliber rifle that would pierce law enforcement’s bulletproof vests.”
According to police, Mark Bennett was arrested on his way to Nevada to meet with the other activists, which, as we mentioned above, is where he planned on getting his weapons. John Bennet was arrested in Virginia Beach, Virginia, where he was working as an assistant principal at Kempsville High School.
McLaughlin further commented, “Thanks to Homeland Security Investigations and our partners, these men are behind bars. Our officers are facing a more than 1,150% increase in assaults against them and an 8,000% increase in death threats while they risk their lives every single day to remove the worst of the worst including murderers, rapists, pedophiles, terrorists, and gang members.”
She continued, “From bounties placed on their heads for their murders, threats to their families, stalking, and doxxing online, our officers are experiencing an unprecedented level of violence and threats against them and their families.”
Sadly, as we just saw with the shootings in D.C. of two National Guard troops, this is far from over. Please remain frosty, everyone, as Democrats refuse to tone down their rhetoric, and in my opinion, they are getting the exact response that they want.
