Trump ends speculation about 2028 run, but still pokes Democrats

Going back to Donald Trump’s first term, Democrats and never-Trumpers have been saying that the president would never leave office if elected.

They say he will end elections as we know them, he will rig outcomes, and he will declare himself a dictator or king. The narratives are endless.

Trump, of course, has poked them all on this front, but he did offer a definitive answer on whether he would be on the ticket again in 2028, and I cannot wait to see how Democrats react to his statement.

Liz Cheney

Former Rep. Liz Cheney (R-WY) is arguably one of the biggest fearmongers on this front when it comes to Trump, having repeatedly stated that if he won in 2024, he would never leave office.

For example, in December 2023, when Cheney was asked whether Trump would remain in power beyond his next four-year term, she responded, "There's no question.”

She later warned, “A vote for Donald Trump may mean the last election that you ever get to vote in. A vote for Donald Trump is a vote against the Constitution."

I continue to wonder whether anyone will ever hold her accountable for her outrageous statements once the 2028 election is held and a winner is declared, or when Trump leaves the White House for the final time in January 2029.

Bannon pokes Democrats

Former Trump advisor Steve Bannon loves to play this game with Democrats, constantly saying shocking things to get them all stirred up, and Trump usually obliges by giving his crackpot theories some oxygen.

Earlier this month. Bannon announced that there is a “plan” in place to get Trump back into the White House in 2028, stating, "Trump is going to be president in ’28, and people just ought to get accommodated with that.”

He continued, "At the appropriate time, we’ll lay out what the plan is. But there is a plan."

Bannon may have a plan, but I can tell you this… if there is a plan to try to put Trump back in the White House after his second term, I would fight it with everything I have, as I am sure most conservatives would, as the concept runs afoul of our Constitution. You get two terms, period, then the next guy gets his crack at the White House. But this is all just pundits poking the bear, so strong action to counter it will never be needed.

Too cute

Trump was asked this weekend about potentially appearing on the 2028 ticket, and he responded, "We have great people. I don't have to get into that, but we have one of them standing right here. We have JD, obviously. The Vice President is great. Marco is great, I think. I'm not sure if anybody would run against those. I think if they ever formed a group, it would be unstoppable.”

He continued, "They have Jasmine Crockett, a low IQ person. They have AOC's low IQ. If you give her an IQ test, have her pass, like, the exams that I decided to take when I was at Walter Reed. I took those very hard, they're really aptitude tests, I guess, in a certain way, but they're cognitive tests. Let AOC go against Trump. Let Jasmine go against him.”

When Trump was asked about the rumored plan to run as vice president in 2028, he said the plan was “too cute,” and it would upset people. Not to mention, he would be asking someone like Vance to step down after winning the presidency, which is a rather significant request, with many surely questioning the constitutionality of such a move.

Trump knows that a third term for him is nothing but a joke, but he loves tossing it out there because it drives Democrats utterly insane. He even had “Trump 2028” hats printed up for his MAGA stores, which really got Democrats rolling. This is trolling at the highest level, yet Democrats continue to fall for it. After the 2028 election, they are all going to have a lot of explaining to do to the American people. But we also know that the mainstream media will never hold them accountable, which is why Democrats continue to fire at will on this subject.
