Disturbing image sparks investigation into Republican House member's office

Democrats would love the country to believe that every conservative is akin to a Nazi.

Sadly, a recent photo from the office of Rep. Dave Taylor (R-OH) will do little to push back against that narrative.

Not only that, but there is also a messaging app scandal that is blowing up against the GOP right now.

The narrative

We all remember the calls of “Nazi” leveled by Democrats during President Donald Trump's second inauguration due to a gesture made by tech mogul Elon Musk.

Dems have been calling Trump a “Hitler wannabe” for as long as I can remember.

The most recent lawmaker to do so was Rep. Jasmine Crockett (D-TX), who doubled down on that narrative even after attempts were made on Trump’s life and in the wake of the assassination of Charlie Kirk.

That narrative just got a major boost, however, thanks to two reports that are blowing up all over the internet right now.

Messages leaked

Why people use messaging apps and assume that their conversations are not being monitored is beyond me, but several young Republicans were just caught sending horrific messages to each other on Telegram.

A Politico report hit on Tuesday, and it is crushing, with calls emerging for the resignations of everyone who took part in the offending messaging stream. Just to give you an idea of the posts that were revealed, members of the groups were calling black people “monkeys” and referring to them as “the watermelon people.” The N-word was being dropped regularly, and there were even references to the Holocaust that were just horrible and unforgivable.

In one message, Joe Maligno, who previously identified himself as general counsel for the New York State Young Republicans, wrote, “Can we fix the showers? Gas chambers don’t fit the Hitler aesthetic.” Annie Kaykaty, New York national committee member, responded, “I’m ready to watch people burn now.”

The report claimed to have 2,900 pages of chat messages among nearly a dozen young Republicans, documenting about eight months of messages. Oddly enough, the trove included communications in which participants expressed concern that their chats might be exposed, yet they kept using Telegram for these conversations.

Another hit

On top of that scandal, a picture has surfaced from inside the office of Rep. Taylor, showing an American flag with several of the stripes manipulated into a swastika. According to the report, this was on or near the desk of staffer Angelo Elia.

Taylor responded to the picture, “I am aware of an image that appears to depict a vile and deeply inappropriate symbol near an employee in my office.” He continued, “The content of that image does not reflect the values or standards of this office, my staff, or myself, and I condemn it in the strongest terms. Upon learning of this matter, I immediately directed a thorough investigation alongside Capitol Police, which remains ongoing.”

A spokesperson for the lawmaker's office added that they thought the flag could be the result of “foul play or vandalism,” but they did not go any further, nor did they announce if any action had been taken against the staffer in question.

This is absolutely horrific and a crushing blow to a party that has to fight off these types of allegations on a daily basis. The GOP needs to take quick action here, immediate action, or this will be used against them in the 2026 and 2028 cycles. I can see the attack ads now… pictures of these messages, coupled with Elon’s misinterpreted gesture, and a voice-over suggesting that Trump has made it all possible. This is a complete and utter disaster.
