Melania Trump has been on quite a winning streak as of late.
The first lady has already forced a handful of publications and media pundits to retract comments made about her alleged links to Jeffrey Epstein.
Melania Trump just notched another win on this front, with HarperCollins UK officially apologizing to the presisdent's wife..
One of the first publications to try to make a link between Melania and Donald Trump and Jeffrey Epstein was the left-leaning Daily Beast.
The original article, “Melania Trump ‘Very Involved’ in Epstein Scandal: Author,” was retracted in July, with the publication also issuing a statement on the matter after several pundits referred to the article as the source for their reports.
The editor's note attached to the eventual retraction stated, “Upon reflection, we have determined that the article did not meet our standards and has therefore been removed from our platforms.”
It continued, “In response to a letter from the First Lady’s attorneys, The Daily Beast has also removed a portion of an episode of The Daily Beast Podcast titled ‘Trump’s Epstein Scandal Can’t Stop Won’t Stop’ referencing the First Lady. The First Lady points to her best-selling book Melania as the definitive account of her life story. We apologize to the First Lady and our readers.”
Longtime Democratic Party strategist and liberal contributor on multiple networks, James Carville, was also among the pundits who had publicly linked Melania Trump to Jeffrey Epstein.
The first lady also sent her legal team after him, and he, just like the Daily Beast, quickly buckled.
Carville stated, “In last week’s podcast episode, we spoke with Judd Legum. After the episode, we received a letter from Melania Trump’s lawyer. He took issue with our title of one of those YouTube videos from that episode and a couple of comments I made about the first lady.”
He continued, “We took a look at what they complained about, and we took down the video and edited out those comments from the episode. I also take back these statements and apologize.”
A recent book published by HarperCollins UK fell into the same trap, and Melania went after them and won.
HarperCollins UK posted, “HarperCollins UK recently published a book by Andrew Lownie titled ‘Entitled: The Rise and Fall of the House of York.’ We have, in consultation with the author, removed passages of the book that referenced unverified claims about the First Lady of the United States Melania Trump.”
The statement continued, “Copies of the book that include those references are being permanently removed from distribution. HarperCollins UK apologizes to the First Lady.”
I know Melania is fighting additional battles on this front, but the one I want to hear about most is her legal threat against Hunter Biden, who has already said he will not apologize or retract similar comments. With a few million potentially at stake, let’s see how long he holds that position.
