Zohran Mamdani has such a huge lead in the New York City mayoral election, I am not sure anything can stop him at this point.
Even though Mayor Eric Adams has dropped out, the fact that GOP candidate Curtis Sliwa has refused to leave the race all but ensures a Mamdani win.
At this point, all we can do is make sure that everyone knows the truth about him in the hope that we can move voters away from this very dangerous candidate
Last week, Adams finally confirmed what we all knew was inevitable, and that is that he would exit the race.
Adams claimed that he was the victim of media bias and unfair investigations, even though it was President Donald Trump who bailed him out of corruption charges that I thought were about as solid as they come.
When Adams was denied help from the city program that offered matching campaign funding, he said there was no way he could move forward.
He concluded, “Despite all we've achieved, I cannot continue my reelection campaign.”
The most recent polls on the mayoral contest were taken before Adams dropped out of the race, but in the poll that offered multiple scenarios, Mamdani’s lead took a decent hit with Adams out of the race, but the Democratic socialist still had a double-digit lead.
I think that number is a bit higher than it would be with Adams officially out of the race, so I would put Mamdani’s edge at right around 10 points, which is about how much support Sliwa has in the race.
Sliwa is a complete and utter joke as a candidate, and he has no chance of winning this race, so now he is trying to get himself some press by claiming that he has had to add 24/7 security amid “credible” threats, but the NYPD cannot verify that claim.
The NYPD confirmed, “There are no reports to the NYPD of credible threats” against Sliwa, so he has either decided to take matters into his own hands or he is just flat-out lying. You can make that conclusion on your own.
Mamdani will tell you he is a Democratic socialist, but that is just a politician playing a game. When you read his actual positions, he is a communist, and I have zero doubt in my mind about it.
For instance, at a conference back in 2021, he stated, "But then there are also other issues that we firmly believe in, whether it's BDS or whether it is the end goal of seizing the means of production, where we do not have the same level of support at this very moment." The phrase “seizing the production” comes directly from Karl Marx, and that is no accident, at least not in my mind.
He has also talked about eliminating private property, having stated, "If there was any system that could guarantee each person housing, whether you call it the abolition of private property or you call it, you know, just a statewide housing guarantee, it is preferable to what is going on right now." He is talking about creating communes, a core of the communist agenda.
Seize businesses, seize property, government-owned grocery stores, etc. And if you look at his team, it is filled with people such as Cea Weaver, who has documented close ties to communist organizations. Mamdani is a communist, in my opinion, and he will destroy New York City more so than Democrats have already done. My bigger fear, however, is that his win in NYC will only energize the growing communist movement in this country. And that is a threat to the dream of our Founding Fathers.
