Musk shares huge announcement in partnership with Trump administration

I have zero problem saying that I think the Elon Musk-DonaldTrump partnership not only helped win Republicans the White House, but it definitely helped them win back the Senate and hold the House.

Republicans are in for the fight of their lives in the 2026 cycle, and the feud between Trump and Musk seemed to have all but ensured that the House would change hands.

That narrative just took a major turn, however, as it would appear that the boys in the band are back together again.

The feud

When Musk and Trump first started to work together, I predicted that it would be short-lived, as there was just no way two alpha males who are used to calling the shots would be able to have one defer to the other.

Musk had never had to answer to anyone, and I believe he simply got tired of being the wingman for Trump, which led to the pushback on the BBB, and, eventually, the breakup.

It was not long after the split, however, that Musk realized that he was better off being in the good graces of the president of the United States than sitting on the outside, and he looked to make peace.

Musk offered several olive branches, but it was not until the two of them were in the same room for the Charlie Kirk memorial service that they actually buried the hatchet.

Let’s talk

Musk and Trump were both in the same suite, and it was Musk who approached Trump, and the president gracefully accepted his handshake, and then, the two of them were seen chatting for a bit.

According to reports, after some small talk, Trump told Musk, “So, Elon, I’ve heard you wanted to chat. Let’s try and work out how to get back on track.”

And with that, the friendship was reborn, and believe me, the conservative movement is far better off with these two as friends than as enemies.

It did not take long for the renewed relationship to pay dividends.

New partnership

Thursday morning, Musk announced that he had formed a new partnership with the federal government to give it access to Grok 4 and Grok 4 Fast. Musk stated, "xAI has the most powerful AI compute and most capable AI models in the world.”

Musk continued, "Thanks to President Trump and his administration, xAI’s frontier AI is now unlocked for every federal agency empowering the U.S. Government to innovate faster and accomplish its mission more effectively than ever before. We look forward to continuing to work with President Trump and his team to rapidly deploy AI throughout the government for the benefit of the country."

This is a huge move for Trump, as he will now be able to put another piece of the puzzle together in terms of modernizing government operations. It was also key that Musk threw Trump a bone in the announcement, as he now seems to realize that the president's ego must be fed to keep the peace. It’s not a slam against Trump, but the fact of the matter is that he needs to be top dog, and this gives him that nod.

Some key lessons were learned in round one, and as long as Musk stays in his lane, I think round two will go much better. I believe that Musk is far more valuable to Trump and the conservative movement by working outside the government rather than within it. Such a scenario also provides that much-needed buffer that allows both Musk and Trump to be the big dogs in their respective worlds.
