Rep. Jasmine Crockett (D-TX) has gone from being something to talk about for some cheap entertainment to one of the most dangerous members of Congress.
When she was making outlandish statements before, she was just proving her ignorance, but in the wake of Charlie Kirk's assassination, she is dialing up her rhetoric, and the media is giving her a platform without offering up any challenge.
The latest of Crockett's tirades took the form of a nasty and blatantly wrong attack against Kirk, as well as one against Donald Trump.
Crockett was on CNN this weekend, but rather than getting her to turn down the temperature, network personalities instead permitted the lawmaker to spew more vile poison.
On Trump, she stated, “Me disagreeing with you, me calling you a wannabe Hitler, all those things are like not necessarily saying ‘Go out and hurt somebody.’ But when you’re literally telling people at rallies, ‘Yeah, beat him up’ and that kind of stuff, like you are promoting like a culture of violence.”
She continued, “[I]nherently in like who you are, y’all are violent. And most of your violence has to do with people that’s got a little bit of melanin. But nevertheless, like, y’all are a violent group. Like, you attract violent actors. And like, I’m sorry, I know they tried to make Black Lives Matter out to be the most violent — ‘Oh, what about Black Lives Matter?’ No, no, no. So that’s the thing — like, they try to pretend like that.”
Did she somehow miss the George Floyd riots that took place around the country in 2020 and literally set out streets on fire? Has Trump committed genocide somewhere along the line that I missed? This kind of talk is a problem, but nobody has the courage to call her out.
Crockett has been making Kirk out to be a racist as well, having refused to support a House resolution condemning his assassination and stating, "One of the things I do want to point out that's not been laid out that honestly hurts my heart is when I saw the no votes, there were only two Caucasians. For the most part, the only people that voted no were people of color because the rhetoric that Charlie Kirk's continuously put out there was rhetoric that specifically targeted people of color.”
She continued, "It is unfortunate that even our colleagues could not see how harmful his rhetoric was specifically to us. And I can tell you that a month prior to him passing away, he had actually gotten out on his podcast. I wasn't aware of this at the time, but he got out there, and he was talking negatively about me directly. So if there was any way that I was gonna honor somebody who decided that they were just gonna negatively talk about me.”
Kirk was not racist, but he did openly talk about some rather uncomfortable topics related to race. But you have to take his comments in their full context, while Crockett would prefer to pick 10 words out of 2,000 to make her case.
Need proof that Kirk was not racist? Google the video of Kirk dealing with a real racist at one of his events and see how he utterly destroys the guy. Kirk was not racist… end of discussion.
CNN contributor Scott Jennings went right after Crockett after she took her shots at Kirk, stating, “I mean, Charlie Kirk targeted nobody. He was not racist in any way. I’ve listened to hours and hours and hours and hours of Charlie Kirk debates and talks and have been with Charlie Kirk and did events with Charlie Kirk and knew Charlie Kirk. There wasn’t a racist bone in his body.”
He continued, “To say that he was continuously targeting people of color is nothing but a malicious smear on the very day that people are remembering Charlie, and he’s going to be laid to rest.”
Jennings is right in everything he said, but Crockett is just typical of what the Democratic Party is doing right now.
They cry for unity, but they don’t want to work with Trump, and their rhetoric of late has been turned up instead of down. It may be controversial to say, but I truly believe Democrats want to push America into a civil war. I mean, what other possible conclusion can you draw when a conservative pundit was assassinated, there have been two attempts on Trump’s life that we know of, and they just continue to use the same inflammatory rhetoric while remaining unwilling to condemn Kirk's assassination? As I have stated before, the Democratic Party wants violence; it needs it to thrive.
