Biden insider reveals real reason he ran for second term

When Joe Biden ran against Donald Trump in 2020, the general consensus at the time was that he would likely only seek one term in office and could possibly even hand the presidency off to Kamala Harris before it concluded.

I still believe that was the game plan, but Harris proved to be inept, so Joe decided to run again, much to the chagrin of his then-vice president, who is now firing off her own attacks about what happened.

Another Biden insider just landed a shot at Harris amid the release of her new memoir, one in which she swung for the fences against Biden, revealing exactly why Joe decided he had to run again in 2024.

Have to answer

After excerpts from Harris' new book emerged, quite a few Democrats took shots at her over the disparaging comments she made against Biden regarding his decision to seek a second term and his abrupt exit from the race that gave her just 107 days to mount her own campaign.

Harris could have come forward to reveal the truth about Biden’s health issues, but she chose to stay silent, and Pennsylvania Gov. Josh Shapiro, who was snubbed by Harris as a potential running mate, is now calling her out.

He stated, “If you can’t win Pennsylvania, it’s pretty darn hard to win the national election.”

Shapiro is absolutely right, which is why I thought he was a lock to be selected. But the governor made it sound as though he had ruffled some feathers, making his position on Biden's second-term bid very clear, now saying that Harris would have to answer for “how she was in the room and yet never said anything publicly.”

Not ready for prime time

After excerpts from Harris' book began to make headlines, other Biden insiders went after her as well.

One of them stated, "Vice President Harris was simply not good at the job. She had basically zero substantive role in any of the administration's key work streams, and instead would just dive bomb in for stilted photo ops that exposed how out of depth she was."

The former Biden aide also brought up the fact that Harris is now admitting that she was in that room, but she left the decision up to Joe and Jill rather than coming out to say something publicly about Biden’s physical and cognitive health.

The aide explained, "I'm not sure the very robust defense of not having the courage to speak up in the moment about Biden running is quite as persuasive as she thinks it is. If this is her attempt at political absolution: Lots of luck in your senior year.”

She can’t do it

Michael LaRosa was once a Biden family confidante, but he has provided rather significant insight into the administration's approach to the former president's condition while in office.

LaRosa challenged the idea of Biden running for a second term, but he stated that the general consensus was, "He has to run because she can’t."

Joe’s team did not think Harris was capable of winning, causing LaRosa to ask, "Then why did you pick her in the first place?" He then explained that the answer staffers were instructed to give when questioned about the wisdom of Biden's bid was, "No one runs for president for four years."

This is now a war between the Biden and Harris camps, and the former VP's new book is an effort to show the American people that she is no longer afraid of Biden’s bullying. But it also shows that she knew the truth all along, and not only did she not say anything about it, she blatantly lied to the American people in the process. So, as that one former aide stated, this is not going to play well for Harris in the eyes of voters, or at least it will not play as well as she seems to think.
