Well, my friends, now I have heard everything.
After four years of Democrats refusing to address the obvious mental decline of Joe Biden, as well as defending his regular three-day disappearing act on weekends, they are going after Trump, claiming that he is unwell at best, on death's door at worst.
Democrats everywhere are piling on, charging that the administration is covering something up regarding the president's health in an effort to have him removed from office.
As it became clearer that something was wrong with Biden, Democrats and the media dug in, regularly claiming that he was “sharp as ever.”
Mitch Landrieu, a former senior adviser to Biden who went on to serve as co-chair of his abbreviated re-election campaign, stated, “I’ve been knowing him for 30 years. I have met with him personally. I’ve met with him with two people, five people, 10 people. I have been on trips with him, crisscrossing the country, rebuilding America based on this incredible infrastructure bill that was passed. And I’m telling you, this guy is tough. He’s smart. He’s on his game.”
Then-Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas parroted that narrative, stating, “The most difficult part about a meeting with President Biden is preparing for it because he is sharp, intensely probing and detail-oriented and focused.”
MSNBC’s Joe Scarborough infamously went on a rant defending Biden last year, stating, “I’ve said it for years now, he’s cogent. But I undersold it when I said he was cogent, he’s far beyond cogent. In fact, I think he’s better than he’s ever been, intellectually, analytically, because he’s been around for 50 years. Start your tape right now because I’m about to tell you the truth. And f-you if you can’t handle the truth. This version of Biden, intellectually, analytically, is the best Biden ever.”
The problem with all the statements above is that most of them were made by people who were not actually spending a lot of time with Biden, especially Scarborough, who had barely interacted with the former president at all during his term.
That led up to the infamous June 2024 debate performance against Trump in which Biden was clearly not all there.
After that debate, everyone gulped down Biden’s narrative that he had just been tired from recent overseas travel, even though the trips occurred weeks before the debate, and Biden had been holed up at Camp David for a week prior to the debate in order to prepare.
At the time, Biden stated that it "wasn't very smart" for "travelling around the world a couple of times" before the debate. He added, "I didn’t listen to my staff... and then I nearly fell asleep on stage.” That is about as ridiculous as it gets, but that was the narrative that the media and Democrats started to push but the calls to have him removed from office started to grow louder.
Typically speaking, a president will take it easy in August, especially around Labor Day weekend, when they will usually spend some quiet time with family. Now, Trump has been available to the media every day since he took office nearly eight months ago, but now, former Biden administration aide Meghan Hays, who literally said nothing about her former boss's obvious health issues, is claiming that the current administration is not being transparent about Trump.
She stated, “I think in August he spent 26 days doing public events or talking to press. So, to go down for six days and just have a slew of Truth Social posts that are very chaotic, and people can’t follow all of them is very concerning.”
Hays continued, “And I think that people have raised the question. The president could just be taking a few days down in August, which is normal for presidents to do. Or there could be actually something wrong. The problem is we don’t know, and they’re not being transparent about it.”
This just goes to show the ridiculous double standard that prevails in the mainstream media. Biden refused cognitive testing, and he hid from the media while everyone protected him. Trump has a bruise on his hand, about which the administration has been transparent, and he takes a day or two off from the media, and they want to remove him from office. I despise this blatant hypocrisy, and the fact that Hays' interviewer did not call out the duplicity of her comments right on the spot is utterly disgusting and extremely disappointing to me.
