Ilhan Omar furious after Dems pull back endorsement of Minneapolis mayoral candidate

Omar Fateh has quickly become the second most polarizing figure in local politics. Fateh is a state senator in Minnesota who is now running to become Minneapolis mayor.

With the rise of Zohram Mandani in New York City, national attention is now also swinging to Fateh, who has been described as Mamdani on steroids.

While his campaign was initially endorsed by the Democrat Farmer Labor Party (DFL), that endorsement has just been revoked, which sent Rep. Ilhan Omar (D- MN) right over the edge.

Running for mayor

Fateh is one of several Democrat socialists running for office in this country. It is a disturbing trend we are seeing where voters are more interested in freebies than they are in our Constitution.

On his Minneapolis mayoral campaign page, he states, “I’m running for Mayor of Minneapolis to work with you to achieve the vibrant, loving city we know Minneapolis can be.”

The website continues, “For working people, it’s getting harder to build our lives in Minneapolis. And with Donald Trump stepping back into the Oval Office, everything we’ve worked so hard to create is in jeopardy. It's not enough to just stand up to Donald Trump. It’s time to push back with forward-thinking leadership.”

Videos of rallies of his rallies have been blowing up, but now things are really getting interesting.

The frontrunner

Recent polling has Fateh at the head of the pack, and that has people on both sides of the aisle concerned.

As discussed above, videos of his rallies have created some major concerns, with Fateh not speaking any English in some instances (Minnesota has a very significant Somali community).

A local imam, Asad Zaman, who once stated, “Israel needs to be dismantled,” is among his supporters.

If you can believe it, there is more concern about Fateh than there is about Mamdani at this point.

Pulling support

Late Thursday night, the DFL announced that it was revoking its endorsement of Fateh, which drew outrage from Rep. Omar.

She posted, "It is inexcusable to overturn the DFL endorsement from Omar Fateh."

Omar continued, "A small group, a majority living outside Minneapolis, met privately to overturn the will of Minneapolis delegates who volunteered, organized, and participated in a months-long DFL process. Unacceptable."

You infiltrate from within when you want to conquer, and that is what these radicals are doing right now with our government. Thankfully, the DFL got some common sense. While I don’t know if it will be enough to stop Fateh from winning the election, it is progress.
