Former National Security Adviser John Bolton’s home raided by FBI

During Donald Trump’s first term in office, John Bolton served as the administration's National Security Adviser.

Bolton is a swamp rat, and why Trump appointed him, I have no idea, other than to say that he was allowing people like Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-SC) to have far too much input into his administration.

Bolton was very critical of Trump after leaving his post, but it is now the president who is having the last laugh.

The Bolton memoir

Bolton, like many other Trump officials who broke with Trump, blasted him in the media and a subsequent book.

While out promoting his memoir, Bolton stated, “I think if you look at what Trump did in his first term -- which I try and describe in the original book -- you can extrapolate from that what a second term will be like, and basically it will be the same except worse.”

Bolton started to get the same reputation as former New Jersey Gov. Christ Christie, who was a Trump ally, but now he is one of the first people the media goes to when they need a negative Trump quote.

The former official added, “All of the things that he did that rendered his presidency dangerous then are going to be even more pronounced in the second term.”

Bolton home raided

Bolton is surely among those marked by Trump for some form of revenge, and that now appears to be happening.

Reports broke this morning that Bolton’s home was raided at 7:00 a.m. local time.

From what I understand,FBI Director Kash Patel believes that Bolton may be in possession of classified documents, putting this raid on par with what happened three years ago to Trump at Mar-a-Lago.

After the reports of the raid broke, FBI Co-Deputy Director Dan Bongino posted, "Public corruption will not be tolerated."

Trump chimes in

Trump took no time at all to gloat over the raid, telling the media, "He's not a smart guy, but he could be a very unpatriotic guy. We're going to find out."

My question would have been, “Well, if he is not a smart guy, why was he advising you during the first term?”

And I don’t necessarily mean that as a shot against Trump, but does he realize that when he throws around these childish insults, he is only hurting his credibility for having hired this man in the first place?

That aside, the media and Democrats are going to have a field day with this, declaring it an abuse of power and and act of political revenge if the raid comes up empty. Personally, I am hoping they found something, because Bolton is about as swampy as they get, and I would love to see him taken down.
