Time to go. Donald Trump is trying to consolidate his power, and one of his biggest adversaries on the left has just been informed that the president no longer needs her services. This is a perfect example of a Hollywood star who has become irrelevant, looking to grab a few headlines amid his fear of being forgotten. Mark Hamill saying he “almost” left the United States after Trump was elected is akin to me saying I “almost” broke 80 on a golf course after shooting a 92. There is no “almost” here. You either did it or you didn’t, and Hamill is merely trying to get a headline to keep his name relevant, but he instead just looks like a narcissist.
In today’s thought, we discussed the idea of eliminating federal agencies to halt the ever-growing bureaucracy in this country, which has essentially become a fourth arm of the government, one in which the American people have no say. Today’s comment comes from Donna W. in Dayton, OH, who responded:
“Elon took a lot of flack from the media over that comment when he made it, but he was right and opened my eyes to this problem. This 'fourth branch of government' is completely unaccountable to us, the voters. They create thousands of regulations that affect our daily lives and our businesses, yet we have no power to fire them when they fail."
“It’s a constant battle, and while I’m glad the President is taking them on, Musk's point is crucial: unless we fundamentally dismantle these agencies and pull the weeds out by the root, the swamp will just grow back the second they get the chance."
The situation makes holding the House in 2026 more urgent than ever, as well as allowing the GOP to keep the White House in the 2028 election. If we don’t, Democrats will go back to business as usual, and we will once again face a growing government rather than the shrinking one we are seeing under Trump.
