Sen. Adam Schiff launches legal defense fund amid mortgage fraud probe

One of the worst culprits of the system's weaponization against Donald Trump was Adam Schiff, a former congressman and now Democrat senator from California.

It turns out, Schiff lied to the American people about FISA abuse, he allegedly leaked classified information, and he has recently been accused of mortgage fraud.

Schiff’s office just announced that he is starting a legal fund to fend off the attacks of Trump for “weaponizing” the justice system against him.

Lies

I still cannot get over the fact that Schiff was never held liable for the lies he told about the memo from then-Rep. Devin Nunes (R-CA) regarding the abuse of FISA warrants against the Trump campaign.

Nunes issued a memo on the subject, which was refuted with a response memo from Schiff, then a congressman, claiming that everything Nunes wrote was a lie.

The memo was applauded by Democrats and the media, but nobody bothered to investigate the claims made by Schiff, simply believing he was the one telling the truth over Nunes.

An Inspector General’s report later found that it was Schiff who was telling all the lies, not Nunes. Schiff also lied during the impeachment hearings, telling people he had irrefutable proof that Trump had colluded with the Russians. But again, he was never held accountable for those deceptions.

Mortgage fraud

Like many politicians who have been in office for years, Schiff keeps a second home in the D.C. area.

According to recent reports, Schiff claimed that his second home was his primary residence in order to exploit tax breaks and secure a friendlier mortgage rate than he would otherwise be offered.

The reports found that Schiff refinanced his homes in 2020, listing both as primary residences, locking in an interest rate that was more than 2% below the expected rate.

The allegations of mortgage fraud are now under grand jury investigation.

Preventative measures

When the government went after Trump, it was applauded, but now that Schiff is being investigated on several fronts for alleged crimes that have already been more or less proven, Democrats say that the government is being weaponized.

Schiff, who has a reported net worth of about $3 million, is now asking his supporters to fund his defense, opening up a legal defense fund. His office explained, "It’s clear that Donald Trump and his MAGA allies will continue weaponizing the justice process to attack Senator Schiff for holding this corrupt administration accountable.”

His office continued, "This fund will ensure he can fight back against these baseless smears while continuing to do his job."

More than anyone else, I want Schiff brought to justice. I am astonished that voters in California continue to look the other way at his criminal activity and treasonous behavior. If that grand jury comes down with an indictment, it will be game over for Schiff.
