Trump orders Gabbard to remove security clearances from dozens of former Intel officials

A big shakeup in D.C. just took place that will likely have Democrats screaming foul.

The security clearances of more than three dozen former officials are being revoked.

This is a crushing move against Democrats, as many of them rely on these security clearances for their jobs in the private sector.

Inside job

By now, everyone is aware of the documents that were recently declassified by DNI Tulsi Gabbard.

The documents revealed a concentrated effort by top-ranking officials in the Obama administration to plot against Donald Trump during the 2016 presidential election cycle.

These officials linked Trump to Russian election interference to make it sound like the then-candidate was colluding with the Russian government to rig the 2016 contest.

Democrats, of course, are spinning this, but the documents released by Gabbard were all internal documents, so there is very little wiggle room with which these officials can make excuses.

Denials

After the release of the documents, former DNI James Clapper and former CIA Director John Brennan wrote a guest essay in the New York Times to deny the allegations.

In part, they stated, "That is patently false. In making those allegations, they seek to rewrite history. We want to set the record straight and, in doing so, sound a warning.”

They later added, "Every serious review has substantiated the intelligence community’s fundamental conclusion that the Russians conducted an influence campaign intended to help Mr. Trump win the 2016 election.”

That second statement is 100% true, but that had nothing to do with the allegations leveled by Gabbard. Again, this was about Democrats including Trump in the election interference to create the collusion narrative, not about the actual Russian interference.

Revoked

On Tuesday, Gabbard announced that security clearances were being revoked for 37 Obama-era security officials, including Clapper.

Gabbard stated, "Being entrusted with a security clearance is a privilege, not a right. Those in the Intelligence Community who betray their oath to the Constitution and put their own interests ahead of the interests of the American people have broken the sacred trust they promised to uphold."

She continued, "Our Intelligence Community must be committed to upholding the values and principles enshrined in the US Constitution and maintain a laser-like focus on our mission of ensuring the safety, security, and freedom of the American people.”

I completely agree with this move and only question why it took so long for it to happen. The reporting on this issue has been atrocious by the mainstream media, as everyone is concentrating on the Russian interference rather than the Democrats creating the narrative that Trump was involved. This could easily be considered treason, and I believe it is only a matter of time before we see charges pursued on that front.
