Former FBI Director James Comey posts bizarre video about Taylor Swift

Former FBI Director James Comey appears to be trying to get public sentiment behind him, perhaps sensing that the walls are closing in.

The former FBI chief is among the former Obama officials that House Oversight chair James Comer (R-KY) is calling in to testify regarding the Jeffrey Epstein investigation, but he could also have problems headed his way regarding the documents released by DNI Tulsi Gabbard.

Comey decided to post a bizarre video about pop star Taylor Swift, which left some wondering if he was making a case for an insanity plea.

Russian collusion

Comey was a key player in the Russian collusion investigation, having signed off on the FISA warrants without checking their legitimacy.

He played this off as business as usual to protect himself during hearings at the time, but Republicans were left fuming over his responses.

For instance, one lawmaker stated, “His memory was so bad I feared he might not remember how to get out of the room after the interview."

He continued, “It was like he suddenly developed dementia or Alzheimer’s, after conveniently remembering enough facts to sell his book.”

86 47

During the election cycle, Comey again tried to play innocent after posting a picture of shells on the beach, this time showing shells that formed the phrase “86 47”.

It seemed clear to just about everyone who saw the post that he was advocating for violence against Donald Trump, but Comey tried to claim that he was simply unaware of the numbers' implications.

He defended himself, "…posted earlier a picture of some shells I saw today on a beach walk, which I assumed were a political message. I didn't realize some folks associate those numbers with violence. It never occurred to me but I oppose violence of any kind so I took the post down."

This was far from the first time that Comey made a post like this, thinking he was the smartest man in the room. Then, after being caught, he claimed he was innocent of any wrongdoing.

I’m a Swiftie

The aforementioned recent video message from Comey was bizarre, to say the least, putting Swift up on a podium regarding her resistance to Trump when, in reality, the singer has largely avoided getting caught up in this political firestorm.

Comey stated, “She’s made clear that she sees Donald Trump for what he is. Last year, she urged Americans not to make the serious mistake of electing him.”

You can see his video below…

Trump has hit Swift on several occasions, and when he did, I stated that it really served no purpose, because his attacks against her were ridiculous in that they claimed that she was not terribly popular. I thought Trump was picking a fight with a fanbase that will never leave the noted singer. In this instance, however, Comey is clearly trying to draw support from Swift’s fanbase, knowing full well that his house of cards is about to collapse on him. This was a desperate move… that seems pretty clear to me.
