Reader Comment of the Day
Regarding our “Thought of the Day” today on politicians using taxpayer money as war chests to win votes in elections, Mark R. from Plano, TX, had one of the best responses:
"I'm a small business owner. I don't get a bailout. My neighbor who paid off his loans doesn't get a refund. This is about fairness. Government spending should be for things we all need, like a secure border and a strong military, not for bribing people with our own money. It’s about time we got back to basics."
We are on the same page here, Mark, as I agree with everything you just said. A country that has $37 trillion in debt should not be using taxpayer money for political gain, regardless of political party or ideology.
