Karoline Leavitt joins Fox News as on-air contributor after White House exit

Former White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt is joining Fox News as an on-air contributor, bringing her Trump-era experience and straight talk to the network’s viewers this fall.

Fox News announced the move on Monday, and the 29-year-old is set to begin Nov. 1. She is expected to appear across both the network’s news and opinion programming, the Post reported after obtaining a press release.

Leavitt stepped down in August after serving as President Trump’s chief spokeswoman. She left Washington after the birth of her second child and now lives with her family in New Hampshire.

She had said she wanted more time with her children while staying a vocal supporter of Trump and the Republican Party. The Fox role lets her do both.

Second Trump press secretary to land at Fox

Leavitt becomes the second former Trump White House press secretary to move to Fox News, following Kayleigh McEnany. That pipeline is no accident. Viewers get people who actually worked the podium, not commentators guessing from the cheap seats.

Fox News Media CEO Suzanne Scott told the Times that Leavitt’s White House and campaign experience gives her a distinctive view of the current political landscape. Scott’s point is simple: real time in the arena still matters on television.

Leavitt framed the job as a continuation of the same direct style she used in the briefing room.

She said:

“I am grateful for the opportunity to continue appearing on Fox News Channel as an official member of the extraordinary team at Fox News Media,”

And she added:

“I look forward to bringing my unique perspective from my experience as White House Press Secretary, along with the same energy and candor that defined my tenure, to Fox’s millions of viewers across their many platforms.”

Candor was the brand. She did not sand down her answers for elite media comfort, and Fox is betting that same approach travels.

Family first, without leaving the fight

The New Hampshire base and the November start date fit the balance she described after leaving the White House. She is not disappearing from politics. She is changing the venue.

On-air contributor slots reward clarity under pressure. Leavitt spent her tenure translating administration decisions in real time, under hostile questioning, for a national audience. That is training most studio regulars never get.

Fox Corp owns Fox News. The Post’s parent, News Corp, is a sister company. The hire still reads as a programming decision first: put a tested Trump spokeswoman in front of viewers who want unfiltered conservative argument, not managed consensus.

When former briefers who defended a Republican White House move to prime cable real estate, the audience gets sharper accountability, and the other side loses another monopoly on the microphone.
