Today’s thought was about American voters not holding officials accountable, and continuing to elect them to offer when they lie and fail to deliver on their promises. Today’s response comes from Kenneth M. out of Illinois, who stated:
“It is a tough pill to swallow, but Sowell pinned the blame exactly where it belongs: on us. We keep electing the guy who promises free everything, zero consequences, and a perfect economy, even though basic common sense tells us it is a complete fairy tale. Nobody wants to hear the hard truth that keeping this country running requires actual sacrifice and tough choices.
“Far too many folks would rather vote for a smooth talker who sells them a comfortable lie than a straight shooter who tells them they have to tighten their belts. Until voters stop treating the ballot box like a drive-thru window for handouts, these politicians are going to keep serving up the same empty promises. At the end of the day, we are getting exactly the leadership we ask for.”
