For years, I have been railing about conservatives in the media who are nothing more than hired guns, using Mark Levin as an example.
In my deep dive on June 21, 2026, I again used Levin as an example of someone who could not be trusted for an honest opinion because of the 180 he did on Trump after Trump won the nomination in 2016. He has since become a figurehead among high-profile MAGA media personalities, with Trump even defending him against an attack by Megyn Kelly recently.
This weekend, Levin proved me right, as he just flipped on Trump again, railing against the president and his position on Israel for 17 minutes. Mind you, this attack preceded a report on CNN about Israel paying high-profile influencers to sabotage Trump’s peace talks with Iran.
Levin then more or less admitted that he is a hired gun on X, insinuating that legal should be associated with the moral and right thing to do. And that simply is not the case in most of our eyes.
Levin and Alex Bruesewitz were involved in an online joust over the report about Israel paying right-wing influencers. Bruesewitz called out Levin directly on the subject and asked him if he thought it was appropriate for foreign governments to try to influence public opinion by paying influencers. Levin responded:
“I don’t and never have. You love to lie about it. And you’re testing my patience.
“But apparently you and your buddy Qatarlson and others are all wrapped up with the Arabs. Nor do I have any foreign business partners. Do you or know others who might? You want to go down that road moron.”
Bruesewitz then returned fire, but it was the Levin post in response that got my ears up…
If it’s legal and other countries do it so be it. Do you think wealthy countries should be able to lavish gifts on our government? https://t.co/94OLoFuPiO

As I reported yesterday, Levin is among those the White House is looking at for having possibly accepted foreign money, specifically named in the Daily Mail report. Now, he is justifying that action solely because it is legal, while camouflaging an attack against the Trump administration over the Qatari jet that Trump accepted to serve as a temporary Air Force One.
Just because it is legal does not necessarily make it right, especially in this business. Your reputation and honesty are all you have. And we are not talking about endorsement money to sell a product on your show, but money from a foreign government to influence popular opinion. If you are doing that, you are no longer a journalist or an influencer… You are a propaganda machine.
Levin is hiding behind the legality of this. But the real question is whether it is ethical. The answer to that question is a mere two letters: N-O.
During the 2016 primary cycle, Levin was among the loudest voices in the country pushing back against the idea of a Trump presidency. After Trump won the nomination, Levin conceded he would be voting for Trump.
That in and of itself is not the damning aspect of the flip. This became an election of who better represents your ideals, and Levin surely was not going to vote for Hillary in that situation. What shocked me was the complete turnaround by Levin, eventually calling Trump a “real leader.”
Now, if you know me, you know I don’t like anyone elected to office being called a “leader.” We don’t elect leaders; we elect representation, and I will die on that hill. This was Levin now fully selling Trump to the American people, and worming his way into Trump’s inner circle.
Trump was a money-making machine for media personalities who backed him, and Levin was not going to miss out on it. You can see his transformation in the table below:
| Date | Levin's Position | Key Quote | Context |
|---|---|---|---|
| April 2016 | NEVER TRUMP | "I'm not voting for Donald Trump. Period... These bully, dirty tricks, Nixonian tactics, they're only going to backfire. So, count me as never Trump." | Levin was a vocal Ted Cruz supporter. Listed on Wikipedia's catalog of Republicans who opposed Trump's 2016 campaign. Threatened to urge "millions and millions" not to vote for Trump. |
| September 2016 | REVERSED PRO-TRUMP |
"I'm gonna vote for Donald Trump. I'm gonna wind up voting for Donald Trump on Election Day." | Reversal came five months after the "Never Trump" declaration. Cruz had lost the primary. Levin announced the flip on his radio program. |
| January 2020 | TRUMP DEFENDER |
"This is what a real leader looks like." | Defended Trump aggressively during the first impeachment. Attacked Republican senators considered "weak links" (Murkowski, Romney, Collins, Alexander, Gardner) for considering witnesses. |
| December 2025 | MAGA INSIDER |
Attended Hanukkah Reception at the White House with Trump. | Trump publicly defended Levin against Megyn Kelly attacks. Levin operated as central MAGA amplifier and was named among most prominent conservative media voices. |
| June 20-21, 2026 | ATTACKING TRUMP AGAIN |
"Stop trashing, smearing, bullying the little state of Israel... Its interests are not aligned with ours, we're told. It's endangering the peace deal. This is beyond nuts." | 17-minute Saturday show monologue attacking Trump over Iran negotiations. X posts framing foreign money to influencers as acceptable on the standard of "if it's legal" — a defense that hides behind legality rather than the higher standard of ethical conduct the public actually expects. Per CNN, reportedly being recruited by Israeli PM Netanyahu to sabotage Iran negotiations. |

I want to note that Levin was a Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) supporter during the primary race. Now, if I were a Cruz supporter and Trump levied the attacks against my guy that he levied against Cruz, even insulting his wife, there is no way I would ever forgive Trump for that to the point of coddling up to him.
Vote for him out of necessity, sure, but to completely flip and become a diehard MAGA supporter suddenly? No, I am not buying that magical transformation.
I can’t say for sure if Levin has taken money from Israel, but this sudden change of heart against Trump sure smells awfully funny to me.
Levin began pushing back against Trump when it became popular to push back against Trump within this little MAGA circle. It started with the acceptance of the Qatari jet, calling the country a “terror state,” adding:
"Their jet and all the other things they are buying in our country does not provide them with the cover they seek.”
You also have to look at the big picture here. Trump’s popularity has been declining, even among Republicans and some MAGA circles, and it would appear that Levin had started to hedge his bets.
I have always suspected Levin was a fraud, nothing more than a hired gun or opportunist. Trump is not someone you suddenly come to love in the conservative world; quite the opposite. You can respect the man’s agenda, but if you did not like him coming into the 2016 race, there is no way Trump’s actions and words drew you in after he won.
The shame of it all is that Levin is a brilliant man. He knows the Constitution inside and out. Few people could stand up to him in a debate, but he has proven that he simply goes where the money, likes, clicks, and shares are at the moment.
As I stated before, that is not a journalist; that is an opportunist, a propaganda machine, and not someone to be trusted to tell the American people the truth.
