Today’s “thought” was about the true meaning of the Constitution, which far too many people have forgotten. Today’s comment is from Raymond S. from Ohio, who responded:
“It seems like every single week, there is some new rule or mandate coming out of Washington telling regular folks what we can or cannot do. They have the whole system completely backwards. The Constitution wasn't written to manage our daily lives or keep us in check; it was written to keep them in check.
“Somewhere along the way, politicians started treating it like a list of optional suggestions they can just bypass whenever they want to expand their power. We don't need a federal government trying to run our interests and dictate our choices. We just need them to respect the boundaries that were set down over two centuries ago and leave the rest to the people.”
