Sen. Kennedy is always good for a laugh…
Today’s thought was about me constantly calling out politicians on both sides of the aisle for referring to our country as a democracy rather than a constitutional republic. I wanted to get feedback on whether people thought I was arguing semantics or if my belief that they had no place holding office in this country if they did not realize the difference was legitimate.
Today’s comment comes from Raymond D. out of Oklahoma, who responded:
“You are absolutely not overreacting; you are identifying the exact battle lines. The Left intentionally uses the word ‘democracy’ because what they actually want is mob rule, where a 51% majority in a few coastal cities can completely bulldoze the constitutional rights of the rest of the country. By constantly pushing the democracy narrative, they are laying the groundwork to dismantle the Electoral College, pack the Supreme Court, and strip away the sovereign rights of individual states. The Founding Fathers despised pure democracies because they knew they always collapse into tyranny.
“Our system was built as a constitutional republic with strict firewalls specifically to stop the kind of unchecked federal power grab the Democrats are attempting right now. We cannot just politely correct their vocabulary on social media. We need our elected representation to go on the attack and deliver a decisive, offensive victory by legislatively crushing any attempt to bypass our constitutional checks and balances. If we do not ruthlessly defend the Republic Franklin warned us about, the Left will replace it with the mob.”
