My “thought” today used a quote from Daniel Webster, which led to my point that our current government is not what our Founders had envisioned. Instead, it is run by career politicians.

“Webster nailed the exact problem we face in Washington right now. The Founders envisioned citizen legislators who would serve a few years and then go back to working real jobs under the exact same laws they passed. Instead, we have an entrenched ruling class of career politicians who view the American people as subjects to be managed. They spend decades in the swamp, entirely insulated from the real-world damage their radical policies inflict on the working class.
“They do not want to represent us; they want to rule us. We cannot just wait for them to change. We have to completely dismantle their power structure, demand strict term limits, and deliver a decisive, offensive victory that reminds these so-called "masters" that they answer directly to us.”
Rex, I have lost count of how many times I have stated that politicians have lost sight of the fact that they are supposed to represent, not lecture, and not push a personal agenda. So, I completely agree with you on this one.
