If there was any doubt that Vance and Trump were on the same page, it should have been ended after Trump officially named Vice President JD Vance the chair of his new fraud task force.
The DC whispers have been running rampant since the start of Operation Epic Fury, as Trump and Vance have not held a presser together in weeks.
There were reports that Vance and Trump were on different pages with Iran, but honestly, that is the role of the VP in cases such as this.
The ideal vice president is not a yes-man or woman, but someone who will challenge the president to ensure the move is the right one to make at that time.
The VP is the last check and balance the president has before making a decision, so this should not be a rubber stamp.
To that point, Politico reported that JD Vance had expressed concerns and was skeptical of the strike, making his opposition to the strike known as the decision was being made on whether to move forward or not.
A top Trump official confirmed my take on this, saying that Vance’s “role is to provide the president and the administration, you know, all points of views of what could happen from many different angles and, you know, he does that. But once the decision has been made, he’s fully on board.”
The New York Post had reported that Vance and Trump have not held an event together since the start of Operation Epic Fury.
That was to end on Monday, after an announcement was made that Trump and Vance would be side-by-side to announce Trump's new order.
And for the record, publicly, Vance has been behind Trump on the operation, as well as defending Trump against allegations that he would stretch this operation out into a war.
For instance, during a Fox News interview, Vance had stated, “There’s just no way that Donald Trump is going to allow this country to get into a multiyear conflict with no clear end in sight and no clear objective.”
There is a contingent of MAGA and conservatives in general who are not on board with Vance serving as the next face of the GOP in this country.
Trump knows this, and he also knows that if Vance is to take over, he will have to make a rather significant impression to win over doubters, and Vance will have every chance to do that by leading Trump’s fraud task force.
The New York Post reported, “Federal Trade Commission Chairman Andrew Ferguson will assist Vance as vice chair of the Task Force to Eliminate Fraud and White House aide Stephen Miller will serve as senior adviser. Cabinet members will participate as necessary.” The task force will be activated by an executive order from Trump.
I know the initial focus of this is going to be in blue states, and I would hope red states take the initiative to root out fraud and eliminate it on their own. This fraud exists in every state of this country, as there is simply no accountability once the checks are written. If this government ever wants the American taxpayer to trust it with their money, this fraud needs to be rooted out, investigated, and prosecuted.
