New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani may have taken a few days to decry the alleged bombing outside of his new home, but Attorney General Pam Bondi did not.

Bondi dropped two indictments just days after the attack took place.

I would also note that, due to the perception of Bondi, it is now being reported that she has been moved to a military facility for her protection.

Took him long enough

Mamdani was very careful about his wording after the initial reports surfaced, as he appeared not to want to upset his antisemitic friends.

Mamdani's hand was forced when the Department of Justice announced its charges, which I will get into more in just a second.

The mayor stated, “Emir Balat and Ibrahim Kayumi have been charged with committing a heinous act of terrorism and proclaiming their allegiance to ISIS.”

It was Monday when Mamdani made that statement. The bombing attempt took place on Saturday. So just reflect on how many times Donald Trump’s feet were held to the fire for daring to take a breath before addressing an attack such as this.

Bondi announces charges

Bondi forced Mamdani’s hand by dropping charges as soon as possible, which was early on Monday.

Bondi posted, “We have indicted the two alleged ISIS-inspired terrorists who attempted to bomb a protest in New York City.” The word “indicted” was initially "charged," but was updated minutes later by Bondi.

She continued, “We will not allow ISIS’s poisonous, anti-American ideology to threaten this nation." Bondi then added, “Our law enforcement officers will remain vigilant.”

Make no mistake about it, this was a line in the sand that was drawn by Bondi, forcing Democrats to take a stand on this issue. Do they criticize her and stand behind terrorists, or do they support her?

Bondi moved

There are a lot of people on both sides of the aisle who do not like Pam Bondi for one reason or another, and there are now reports that Bondi has had to be moved for safety reasons.

The New York Times reported, “Attorney General Pam Bondi has quietly relocated to one of several military bases in the Washington area where other Trump administration officials also live, after facing threats from drug cartels and critics of her actions in handling the Jeffrey Epstein case, according to people familiar with the situation.”

It is highly unlikely that this move was coordinated with the fact that Bondi just released nearly 50,000 more Epstein files, reportedly where Trump’s name played a significant role.

Bondi is likely still on thin ice with Trump, but it has stiffened up just a bit due to these threats against her.
