Sen. Adam Schiff (D-CA) just exposed as a complete hypocrite on TV by Bill Maher.
For instance, Rep. Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) supported Obama’s Libya strike, but went after Trump for his Iran strike.
Schiff took the same narrative, but he got trapped by Bill Maher.
When Obama conducted his strike against Libya in 2011, Pelosi said he did not need approval.
When she was asked about Trump, in a very similar situation, she said it was completely different, adding, "Do your homework. Read the law. We have lost people in war already.
“We don’t even know if these people admit that is war going on now."
The law allows Trump 60 days before needed congressional approval. Pelosi is just wrong.
Last week, Schiff ripped Trump for the strike right after it happened.
He stated, “There was simply no basis to go in with this massive military campaign, with the goal of regime change. And the concern here is that we have unleashed factors in the region now that we cannot control.
It would appear that Schiff and everyone on the left seem to think that we need to wait until nukes are loaded and ready for fire before we have to strike.
Schiff later added, “If the Iranian people do rise up, as [Trump] has called upon them to do, maybe they’re successful. Maybe they get slaughtered in reliance on the president’s implicit promise that we will be there to help them.”
Maher set Schiff up beautifully, asking him, "This statement from the administration: ‘The president had the constitutional authority to direct the use of military force because he could reasonably determine that such use of force was in the national interest.’ That’s too vague for you?"
Schiff started to respond, stating, “Totally vague,” but then Maher cut him off, "Okay. Because that’s from Obama about Libya."
Mic drop by Maher, but Schiff tried to recover, continuing, "Ultimately, he did not go forward with going after [former Syrian President Bashar al-Assad], even though Assad was gassing his own people, because he thought he may lose the vote in Congress.”
That is also a lie, as the attacks lasted for about eight months, two months longer than permitted without congressional approval. That tells you all you need to know about the duplicity of our elected officials, depending upon who is in office.
