Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth has just confirmed that the mastermind behind the plot to kill Trump is now dead.
Iran has been trying to kill Trump since he took out General Qasem Soleimani.
Over the years, numerous plots have been revealed, but they were unable to carry them out. Now Trump gets the last laugh.
I can still remember when the announcement was made that Soleimani had been taken out with a missile strike.
I was writing for another publication at the time, but I did an extensive report on the horrors committed by Soleimani, and how I was baffled that Democrats would stick up for such a man.
Iran was obviously furious at the strike, with Majid Takht Ravanchi, Iran’s ambassador to the UN, stating, “The US has started the economic war in – in May 2018. Last night, they started a military war. By assassinating, by an act of terror, against one of our top generals.”
Yes, he was a general, but he was also a terrorist, and he deserved to die.
Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi spoke on the second anniversary of the death of Soleimani, where he vowed revenge for the strike.
He stated, "If Trump and (former secretary of state Mike) Pompeo are not tried in a fair court for the criminal act of assassinating General Soleimani, Muslims will take our martyr's revenge.
"The aggressor, murderer and main culprit - the then president of the United States - must be tried and judged under the (Islamic) law of retribution, and God's ruling must be carried out against him.”
When the assassination attempts against Trump took place in the United States, conspiracy theories ran wild trying to link them to Iran. But that did not seem to be the case. However, that does not mean Iran was not working behind the scenes to make good on its promise.
The man who was charged with carrying out the plot to kill Trump has been killed, according to Secretary Hegseth.
He stated, "The leader of the unit that attempted to assassinate Trump has been hunted down and killed. Iran tried to kill President Trump and President Trump got the last laugh. This is not a ‘mission accomplished’ situation. This is simply a reality check."
When Trump was asked about taking out the Supreme Leader in the early days of the operation, he responded simply, “I got him before he got me."
Trump later added, "They tried twice. Well, I got him first." Yes, Mr. President, you did.
