Rep. Jasmine Crockett’s (D-TX) primary defeat is getting all the headlines. As a Texan, the bigger story is the defeat of Rep. Crenshaw (R-TX).
When Crenshaw came into office, we all had high hopes, but his evolution was not as planned.
The everyday man turned into an elitist, and he just found out what Texans think of elitists.
I don’t want to glance over the Crockett loss because it is a big story, but the story is how she reacted to her defeat. Crockett claimed the election was rigged against her, blaming it on Republicans, but this was a primary race in the Democrat Party.
After her loss, she stated, "If one person has the right to vote, and they weren’t allowed to cast their vote, we should all be standing together. Democrats, Republicans, and we should all be raising hell. But unfortunately, this was always the plan. And so I am grateful for this court order. And as Congressman Allred has already stated, we encourage each and every one of you to remain resilient."
She continued, “We cannot allow this type of behavior to be rewarded, because so long as they know that they can win, even if it means cheating, then they will continue to do it. So I am asking you. I am begging you to make sure that you go ahead and figure out where it is that you are supposed to vote. Stand in line, wait in line, and if it means that I got to come out there with you to wait with you, I will do that.”
This is just sour grapes to me. Texans did not fall for her act, and now she is out of a job. She will likely run for the House again, but at least we get two years free of her nonsense.
The downfall of Crenshaw reportedly started when he and Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) got into an argument while boarding a flight in Texas headed to DC.
Crenshaw alleged that Cruz was working against him in the primary race, and Cruz responded, “If I’m working against you, you’re gonna know it.”
But it was Crenshaw who was working against himself.
He started out as a former Navy SEAL whom MAGA loved, and he eventually became part of the establishment. That is the reality of why he lost this election.
That airport interaction left a bad taste in Cruz’s mouth, and he wound up endorsing Crenshaw’s challenger, Steve Toth, a state representative and businessman.
While Crenshaw has been critical of Trump at times, he claimed, "My relationship with Trump is good. I work very closely with his administration. I'm close with Pete Hegseth and John Ratcliffe and Kash Patel, because this is all within my scope too on the [House] Intelligence Committee.”
He continued, “We work very closely together with the White House. You'd have to not pay attention to any of that to think I'm not ‘Trump’ enough."
You guys all know me by now. I don’t care if you are “Trump enough.” It is about representing your constituents, and Crenshaw, in my view, became a social media star, tough guy, and photo-op king. He also made some decent money in the stock market during his time in Congress. I believe he became a card-carrying member of the swamp. If I am being honest, I am glad to see him go.
