Tyler Boebert, 20, has been a major problem for Rep. Lauren Boebert (R-CO) during her time in office.
The polarizing Republican has had plenty of issues she has created on her own, yet Tyler has served to pour gasoline on a raging fire.
Boebert finally managed to get all the scandals behind her, but now Tyler is once again facing child abuse charges.
Nearly three years ago, it was announced that Boebert and her husband, Jayson, had gotten a divorce.
They were married young, and as typically happens, the marriage started to fall apart as they grew older and changed their ways.
Jayson had a colorful past, as did their relationship, but he took all the blame for the marriage falling apart, then touted her as the “rock” that kept the marriage together for as long as it lasted.
He concluded, “Her strengths were always used to cover my weaknesses. Throughout our 20 years together, she has been my rock, my confidante, and my best friend. Her unwavering commitment to our family has been truly admirable, and I am devastated by the pain I have caused her.”
Amid the separation and divorce, it was reported that Boebert’s teenage son, Tyler, had gotten his girlfriend pregnant.
The child was born in June 2023, making Boebert a 36-year-old grandmom. She addressed the situation and her job as a congresswoman with Fox News’ Sean Hannity, stating, "Sean, I did not put my life on pause and leave my four boys and my now grandson to come here and just get in spats with people.”
She continued, "I came here to legislate and to be effective for Coloradans, Coloradans who are suffering from the Democrats' policy. Marjorie is not my enemy. Joe Biden's policy, the Democrats, that is my enemy that I am combating right now."
She also tried to create some levity about it, saying that when she challenged her son on becoming a grandmom at 36, he told her she made her mother a granny at the same age. She responded, “I said, 'Yes, I did.' He said, 'Well then, it's hereditary.'"
As a woman who often talks about her faith, these were two big blows to the congresswoman, and many wondered if her career could survive it. She has, but now she is getting hit again.
For the second time in less than a year, Tyler Boebert is getting hit with child abuse charges, as he allegedly allowed his two-year-old son out of the house without any supervision.
The Colorado congresswoman did not make excuses for her son, saying that she is “very frustrated” over what happened, adding, “A kind woman quickly and safely secured him, and authorities were called as a precaution.”
This is far from Tyler’s only run-in with the law, as he has been hit with careless driving as well as having faced 22 charges for a string of alleged thefts. He managed to get off fairly easily in both instances, which has apparently not really helped the young man or his mother. I can see the hits coming against Boebert now, as the timing of this could not be worse in an election year. But I think the election should be the last thing on her mind right now, as this is clearly becoming a very serious problem for the family.
