Lutnick admits to meeting Epstein at private island

We all know the horror stories of Epstein's island at this point, and anyone who stepped foot on it has a target on their head right now.

Well, Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick popped up in the Epstein files, and he confirmed that he met the famed pedophile there during a family vacation.

Now the Dems are pouncing, demanding that he step down.

Shock admission

As we noted the other day, the latest trove of Epstein files that were released created a wave of resignations.

Lutnick was one of those names that popped up, but he appears to be standing firm. Even so, he was not safe during a recent hearing, including from Republicans.

When he was asked about his presence on the island, Lutnick responded, “Thank you for the question. I’m glad to be here to make it clear that I met Jeffrey Epstein when he moved, when I moved to a house next door to him in New York.”

He later testified, “My wife was with me, as were my four children and nannies. I had another couple with, they were there as well with their children, and we had lunch on the island. That is true, for an hour, and we left with all of my children, with my nannies, and my wife, all together. We were on family vacation. We were not apart.”

Dems pounce

Democrats quickly pounced, demanding that Lutnick resign from his position.

For instance, Rep. Robert Garcia (D-CA) stated, “It’s now clear that Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick has been lying about his relationship with Epstein. He said he had no interactions with Epstein after 2005, yet we now know they were in business together.”

Sen. Adam Schiff (D-CA) added, “He has no business being our Commerce Secretary. He should resign.”

The list goes on and on, and it was not just Democrats, as some Republicans are worried about the optics of this, but not President Trump.

Still supporting him

It has not been a good year thus far for Trump officials, and Lutnick just added another headache for Trump.

But, as he did for DHS Secretary Kristi Noem after the two Minnesota shootings, Trump remains supportive of Lutnick.

When White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt was asked if Trump still supported him, she responded, “Secretary Lutnick remains a very important member of President Trump’s team, and the president fully supports the secretary.”

I am honestly not sure where I stand on this right now. The fact that he was on that island really bothers me, but if his wife and children were with him, could it possibly have been that he was ignorant of Epstein’s behavior? I find that hard to believe, but we do know Dems will not give up this narrative. It will be interesting to see how long Trump can hold Dems from taking Lutnick’s scalp.
