During the second half of Trump’s presidency, there was a lot of speculation about people like George Soros funding organizations that were leading these protests.
Even though the media painted it all as a conspiracy theory, there were actually posts on the Open Society Foundations’ (OSF) website about the money being poured into these groups.
Now, we are seeing the same thing, only the leaks are coming out much quicker.
As the left blames everything on Donald Trump, the right has a tendency to do the same with George Soros, the founder of Open Society Foundations, which spreads around hundreds of millions of dollars every year to liberal causes and politicians.
Last year, CNN ran a piece about the right’s obsession with Soros, starting off the article, “George Soros has been the go-to bogeyman for the American right — and right-wing leaders around the world — for years.”
If you do a quick Google search about Soros funding rioting, you will see plenty of mainstream media outlets tossing around the word “conspiracy theories,” but you can trace a lot of money from OSF to NGOs that eventually wind up in the hands of these groups.
You guys know me well enough by now that if I think something stinks, I will tell you just that, but there are some real teeth to this. It’s not a rumor, and it’s not speculation… the money trail has been proven time and time again.
Let me take you back to a July 2020 post on Open Society Foundations’ website, where Patrick Gaspard openly talks about a $220 million “investment” made to these groups.
Gaspard, just a few paragraphs into his post, wrote, “I joined the Open Society Foundations because of George Soros’s deep commitment to racial justice. I am humbled now, as president of the Open Society Foundations, to help implement his vision and continue his work.”
It continues, “Today, we are investing $220 million in response to the burst of energy we have witnessed from this extraordinary movement, in hopes of nurturing it and ensuring that it endures long after the media spotlight has moved on.”
Gaspard then documents some groups that received a $150 million slice of that pie, including “Black Voters Matter, Circle for Innovations, the Rev. Barber’s Repairers of the Breach and the Equal Justice Initiative.” These are all groups linked to protests against Trump, many of which turned violent as Trump’s first term was winding down.
The latest cause is to protest against ICE, and we are seeing some of the same players involved, and these groups are not even hiding the fact that they are getting money from rich leftist billionaires.
Scott Walter, president of Capital Research and an expert on dark money outfits, citing groups such as the Party for Socialism and Liberation and the People’s Forum, stated, “My team’s best judgement is that it’s the Neville Singham network that is most active [in Minnesota], partly because that’s the most crazy network. But they aren’t alone.”
Other groups pouring money into these protests are Indivisible, which also gets money from OSF, Sunrise Movement, Unidos Minnesota, Voices of Florida (partly funded by the Ford Foundation), and former Bernie Sanders PAC Political Revolution, just to name a few.
What is astonishing is that major companies are no longer hiding the fact that they are involved in this, as they want to make sure the radical leftists in this country know they are with them, so their companies don’t get canceled. Well, now Trump knows, and it will be interesting to see how he handles this one. My guess is that at some point, the DOJ will declare war on them all
